The red supergiant star Betelgeuse has exploded. Axinite almost fractured at the news of this incredible phenomenon. Without any fear of burning her vitreous retinas, she looked directly at the celestial supernova in the sky. For the last half of the summer, there was not a night that the cyclesilicate left her telescope aside. Her forecast is 5 months of uninterrupted light, a period of time that covers all of autumn and part of winter. Brilliant hope for those who do not die.

Mineral life forms are organisms of defined chemical composition. From phosphates, sulfates, carbonates to silicates, these beings are collectively understood as the only intelligent species on Earth. Gems not only shine for their varied colors, their abundant intelligence, strength, and beauty, but they also stand out for their imperishable capacity. In short, immortality, even if their body breaks into a thousand pieces, as long as most of their parts are recovered and rejoined, gems will revive again and again. In this way, for more than 10,000 years, generations of mineral life have inhabited this immaculate world.

The crystalline land is an extensive island located in the northern hemisphere of the planet. This portion of land hosts a large and unique ecosystem of organic and inorganic beings. Although most carbon-based beings do not exceed 20cm in height, the rest of the mineral life acts as a regulator and preserver of these species. Outside the island, in the ocean, natural life develops without interruption. It is theorized that the saltwater mass comprises 99% of the Earth's surface.

During winter, a large part of the sea freezes and the sky fills with clouds so dense that they prevent any transparency. The gigantic icy continent that rises opposite the crystalline land could be explored, but at this moment most gems are in an inactive state due to their weakness. The microscopic inclusions that provide motility and consciousness to gems function based on light energy. Therefore, in winter, on cloudy days and in dark places, efficiency tends to be attenuated. The number of gems that resist deep sleep is reduced.

>Pyroclasts
Mineral beings of apparent subterranean origin. From ash, lapilli, slag, bombs, and blocks, they visually have dark appearances and are physically fragile and brittle. Sometimes they emerge with high temperatures, almost incandescent. They appear in large groups like shadows on the earth and use weapons and tools to attack the gems. Occasionally, a gem is captured by pyroclasts and disappears forever.

>Fluorite
Hardness 4. She is a gem with special abilities, is over 1050 years old, and is well-treated among most gems, almost like a celebrity. Fluorite is in charge of naming new gems, as well as figuring out their main characteristics. For sufficient years, Fluorite teaches the new ones everything about the world and later assigns them jobs and missions.

>Jobs and active gems
Every day during the summer, spring, and autumn seasons, the gems patrol in groups. Most gems with hardness 6+ focus on combat and patrolling. Another population is dedicated to various activities such as geology, biology, meteorology, astronomy, history, and complete daily recording of the crystalline earth. There are 22 gems inhabiting the island, Almandine, Topaz, Alexandrite, Padparadscha, Aragonite, Uranocircite, Onyx, Ametrine, Moissanite, Diopside, among others. Each with a marked individuality in appearance, personality, strength, luster, crystal system,

22*: I will add more.

Interesting black, then I'll explain about the clothing and material of the weapons
>Summer day 46. It's very early in the morning, so early that it's still dark. The sun won't be long in coming, just a few minutes. You wake up among an immense amount of pillows and sheets to the point that it's overwhelming. It seems like Benitoíta had another of those textile impulses.
>Your inclusions adapt to the environment in just a few seconds, although most remain asleep. Your quartz eyes, pupil and iris of almost colorless white howlita observe through the darkness. Everything is in order in your room.
(-) Um..
>Behind the door, towards the marble hallway you heard the sound of footsteps heading your way. You would have expected the moment when such a gem would touch the door, but the lapse of time is long.
>Naturally the movement of your waking makes the pillows rub against each other and the fabric feels like a whisper in the air, incredibly unnoticed. But such a minimal action is enough to trigger the reaction of the gem behind the door. Three consecutive knocks and a call behind.
(Diamond green) How, are you awake? Fluorite is calling us. It's about the morning meeting.
>Green has always been perceptive, even in small actions like this, I wait for the precise moment to call your room. Her smile behind is in search of not making you have a bad start to the day.
>The elemental mineral with a rare earth color has an age of 156 years and is the youngest* and weakest among all the diamonds. Nevertheless its hardness is high and therefore its strength as well, patrols daily. Usually you are not grouped with gems of a 3 point difference in hardness, so this intervention is simply because you were close to her room.
>Green is diligent, but not a bother. After a short time without response she would assume you are asleep and you could even rest a few more minutes before going.

>The step of Green is calm. Naturally there is no material more resistant that can support the weight of their bodies, so they use basaltic footwear. The sound of their steps echo against the plagioclase floor and bounce back in echo against the metamorphic limestone walls.
>The light received at near morning is totally reduced and for that reason effects of drowsiness in some gems. When you see green diamond you don't find any effect of fatigue, due to its ability to reflect light, its inclusions work well in these cases.
(Green Diamond) You look bright and beautiful today, How. When was the last time Imperial Topaz performed your luster?
>Imperial Topaz of hardness 8 and 321 years works in the recovery rooms reassembling, cutting and polishing gems, which is known as medical work. Naturally the gems do not have a skin color so pale, it would rather be the luster that topaz provides from natural elements of the ecosystem. To all of them it seems wonderful.
>The main hall is located a few meters away. The path was calm, somewhat silent except for Diamond. The figure of fluorite remains static, but before you two are stopped.
(-) Hey!
>The pair of hands quickly placed on your shoulders in a way that you could be surprised, not only by the action but also by the fact that he touched you with bare hands. Your hardness is compatible with several gems, but there are others that would break you just by touching you. Fortunately this is not the case.
(Benitoita) It seems that young gems like to form subgroups on the way to meetings, isn't it?
>The cyclosilicate smiled and referred to you two, but her expression was in great diligence like Green but as part of her excessive action. Green reacted positively nervously to the eccentricity of this gem.
(Benitoita) Howlita, did you like the detail I left in your room last night? I left it to others like Heliodor and Tanzanita, but I want to know if you really liked it!
>Benitoita is of hardness 6 to 6.5, has approximately 530 years and her job is to create her outfits and any other soft utility like the pillows of this morning. In fact, who would have left so many and of different sizes and shapes in your room was her.

I got distracted. Last turn of today

>The sun achieves its purpose and begins to rise. Some gems are usually affected by the light of mornings, according to Fluorite certain frequencies of waves can alter the appearance of the light that is reflected from their interiors. The most notable case perhaps is that of Alexandrite which always changes between those two colors blue and red.
>Due to the light, Green now looks radiant, after all, among you it's who reflects the light the most. But she's not disoriented by your comment, all gems have a fondness for looking beautiful.
(Benitoíta) Soft, well. Then just soft or maybe something more. Did you not notice her rabbit-like shape and medusa part? Or should I make it moths next time?
>Benitoíta interrogates like someone who has used up all her bullets in the magazine. She is fond of her work, even more than the rest of the gems. You would have understood that part of her attitude regarding her job would have been inherited from her predecessor. Although you were born very early to know her.
(Diamond green) Besides the patrol shifts, maybe… the autumn preparations?
(Benitoíta) If they are our autumn outfits, everything is covered.
>Benito made it known proudly. She was certainly very dedicated, maybe she used this free time to finish those pillows.
(Benitoíta) But if you ask me for something else, I think I have an idea.
>It seems Benito knew something, unlike Green who thought about the usual. However, before continuing, the steps of several gems along the path became noticeable.
>Bort, Ruby, Heliodor 50 and Heliodor 57 are also approaching to attend the meeting. It's time to greet the others.

>Benitoíta is part of the gems with approximate hardness like yours, among all of them, no one showed greater interest in your idea of the armors. After all, she created the outfit of all using glass fiber from the fractured mountain extrusion and cooperated with tourmaline to use its generational worms.
>The sun shines in the morning and given the amount of gems gathering in this corridor, it reflects the light in different colors. The red of ruby goes towards the floor, the yellow twin heliodor illuminate towards the sides and finally the green diamond and raw diamond bort reflect in any direction.
(Bort) ¡Howli! How are you, precious.
>Raw diamond greets with total enthusiasm. She is kind, affectionate and treats everyone well, but that last one may result a danger. Bort approached his right hand to your head, as if to pet you like Topacio Mistico to his jellyfish.
(Bort) Oops, almost.
>Before breaking you, she stopped. It's hardness 10, the maximum and despite being young among the adult gems, she is the strongest with approximate 800 years. Bort smiles in a clear apology, this problem of breaking the others has been with her since centuries.
(Rubi) Is your research very heavy? I hope you take the time to rest.
>The red gem is very considerate, equally the twin heliodor are grateful for your work. After all, no one had ventured into the work of the weapons for about 200 years before you were born, Fluorita took care of everything.
(Bort) Right, she made that sword for you. Truth, green?
(Green Diamond) E-eh eeh…
(Bort) Green loved your obsidian edge, but she got so depressed when you broke it.
>Green looks surprised, maybe Bort touched a nerve fiber. The news of the broken weapon reaches you and Bort seems to not have noticed saying it. After the carelessness of the diamonds, finally arrived most of the gems and they would meet in front of fluorita in nothing.

(Green Diamond) It won't happen again!
(Bort) Oh, of course it will.
>Raw Diamond continues to tease her sister, now that she saw your reaction, it seems that green is in trouble. Green Diamond is almost the same age as you, but unlike you, she could be incredibly careless in battle to the point of making mistakes like the one Bort brought to light. Perhaps because of her diamond nature you would expect perfection, but nothing could be further from the truth. At least she is diligent and good at apologizing, you could even feel sorry for her.
(Heliodor 50) See you later.
(Heliodor 57) Goodbye.
>The golden beryl twins are saying goodbye and walking away to join the ranks. They are companions, Bort and Green are too, same with Ruby and the annoying Padparadscha, all the gems that dedicate themselves to fighting have another of total trust. Right now, at least 20 gems are standing in front of the giant table presided by Fluorite. Not all of them are present, but as is usual, Fluorite greets each one gently and proceeds to give the recommendations of the day and the patrol shifts that Axinita prepared. Fluorite is hardness 4, but she leads all of them in such a way that you can always see her yellow eyes of central oxygenated structure.
(Fluorita) Howlite, Benitoite. Could you two come here for a moment?
>After finishing with the general instructions, she would ask you two to come closer. Some gems went to do their work, while others still wandered around the place. The glow of morning makes its way into the large main hall of the marble academy, her home.
(Fluorita) First of all, you two shine as intensely as always.
>She has the habit of speaking in principle referring to her luster and beauty, like almost all the gems you know. She doesn't take long to explain the intervention.
(Fluorita) A few days ago, Benito reported being ready for patrol duties. It was a complete surprise. But lately we have witnessed more frequent pyroclastic attacks, so it's key to increase gems to defend ourselves. After all, we take care of each other and help each other in what each one is good at… Is it true you finished your summer duties, Benitoite?
(Benitoite) Correct.
(Fluorita) All the more so.
>Benito answered truthfully and Fluorita nodded in conviction of her decision. These blue and sky-blue gems would soon involve you in something more than just creating weapons for the others. Fluorita continues.
(Fluorita) I want you two to form a team. You will be companions for the rest of the summer. Are you against it? Or perhaps, do you have any questions?

>In the gem group that listened to fluorite's instructions, they range from hardness 3.5 to 10. It was strange that crisocola, the weak gem focused on studying the ocean, wasn't visible. Uranocircite wasn't there either, but that wasn't unusual, as it always hides in this cave deep in the broken forest to not harm the others. You might have expected yellow diamond to be there, but instead it was its sisters who promised to reunite with you regarding the broken weapon.
>Fluorite's eyes are a different color than the rest of its gem component, almost like crisocola's which has crystallized pyrite in the iris. But you know fluorite is different, its crystalline centers are replaced by yttrium and various elements that provide different colors.
(Fluorite) Yes, that's also important. Benitoíta makes outfits from natural elements, they could share information regarding that.
>Fluorite spoke about the armors. She, in principle, would have shown great interest, letting you continue that project. But you could notice something besides her supportive words and that, unlike your work with the weapons, she didn't ask for precise results.
>Gems are fragile, they break with a touch of higher hardness. Even diamonds have problems countering pinpoint attacks. It's complicated to create a defense when fragility is maximum and the resources you have are limited.
(Benitoíta) Don't worry Howli, you'll be with me. I have no fear.
>Benitoíta called your attention and told you something that made less sense to you than to her. Since your birth, Bentonita hasn't fought, despite having medium hardness, always doing this work of clothing. With more questions than answers this small meeting ends, Fluorite calls them to patrol the broken forest from 10 to 12 pm. It's just a trial period until summer ends, she said.
>Hours remain until 10, so Benito would go to his room and then to his workplace, you would have in mind to do something similar. Fluorite stops you after Benitoíta has left.
(Fluorite) Howl, I hope you understand. Benitoíta has centuries without will to fight. She breaks, fails and wanting to compensate her mistakes, she dedicated herself completely to her work.
>She speaks the truth, you notice it by Benito's extreme dedication and the opinion the others have of her.
(Fluorite) Benito thinks you resemble Dolomita, her old companion, although you didn't know her. She was lost 320 years ago. Just don't be too harsh with Benito.

>320 years ago, Axinita would be born and we would lose Dolomita. Cases where one gem is exchanged for another are not very common, but they do happen. Just as it is unlikely for multiple gems to be born in succession or for pyroclasts to attack in coordination. It is during one of these latter attacks that naturally they lose companions, but there are those who are capable of replacing them.
>Fluorita brings you the news regarding Benito. She has done a lot for others, despite not fighting. Naturally, her capabilities as a 500-year-old gem with a hardness of 6 would have developed her into a mid-to-high level combat gem. The fact that a talented gem returns to patrol could excite a couple of diamonds and corundums. Fluorita looks at your understanding and gives compliments.
(Fluorita) Even though you are young, you are very prudent. I will not ask you for something impossible, after all Benito will recover her will on her own.
>You wouldn't know what happened for Benito to regain the desire to fight, nor would Fluorita. But if she can maintain a complete state and not just focus entirely on work, it would help many and herself. Fluorita's solution of forming a team is only temporary, probably waiting until Benito can form teams with other gems apart from you and finally take for granted her new standard.
(Fluorita) Now that I remember, Dolomita was a very extravagant gem, she wrote a couple of books. Well, Ametrino transcribed them for her. Maybe you should check the writings in the library.
>Axinita, Ametrino and Onix are the gems in charge of the library, each with a different task, always assisting Fluorita precisely with information and plans.
>It's 7:30, you have the option to go anywhere, your room, the weapon creation room, go outside, the library as Fluorita suggested, visit the tourmaline or topaz gardens, or simply loiter until some gem questions you about being lazy.

>Summer, day 46, time 7 second half. The shadow of the pillars in the central room is annoying, almost making them remember the limited amount of light they receive in the morning. Fortunately, Fluorita came up with the idea to give them a shift at a time of day with a lot of sun. You will patrol starting at 8 at the western cape under the cluster of rugged bays to the northwest. Another group, Mossainita and Almandino, on the contrary will be in the East. It seems today Axinita doesn't want to experiment with new formations or eccentric defense groups, after all this rare star still remains in the sky and almost absorbs her psychosis.
>A green and purple glow opens up and bounces against your vitreous retinas. Dressed loosely, walking slowly and patiently, Topacio Místico approaches you. Now not only Fluorita and Howlita are talking in the main room, but also this multicolored gem has appeared at the time you were waiting for your companion.
(Topacio Místico) Taaffe, do you want to play with me today? There's a Papilionida Simo among the bushes, let's find its home.
>Topacio Místico is the second oldest gem only preceded by Yellow Diamond, her actions are generally nonsense. Although Fluorita continues assigning her tasks with Turmalina as a companion, her performance is lacking. However, she is good with the species of plants and animals that form the organic ecosystem of the island.
>It seems as if the information from this meeting has been erased from her head, you wouldn't have a problem explaining your functions now, but before that you are conditioned to hold a sword. Alexandrita walked up to your side and gave you the weapon you forgot to pick up this morning. She calls your attention with an "hey" and leaves the sword, hers is attached to the side of her waist.
(Alexandrita) Although she wants to, she doesn't have much time, Topacio. Our shift is at 8, maybe later.
(Topacio místico) Later… So you also want to join?
(Alexandrita) Uh.
>Alex seems to be taking time to respond to Topacio, after all she never has any other occupation but to practice her technique. She takes her work seriously and is respectful towards others, you could never hear a "no" from her part because she's always at service, to Fluorita or others she admires. Alexandrita with a hardness of 8.5, with at least 800 years of experience is your companion, most of the time servicial, her hair color changes with the light, alternating between red and blue. Alex hesitates, maybe it's a great opportunity to convince her to spend time with you beyond just training and fighting.

>There are 5 gems in the main hall, besides the three of you. Fluorite and Howlite are talking about something private. Curiously, Howlite has these obsidian swords with such sharp edges. Soon two of these weapons will appear in this place, but not to be used, rather for transport to their mission. Mystic Topaz always wears long robes that drag across the impeccable floor, yet you can see her slender feet in comfortable basaltic footwear crafted by Benitoite. She is very friendly with you, as if you were on a similar wave frequency. It is more than good for you that an ancient gem wants to play and have fun.
(Mystic Topaz) Ahaha! Taaffeita, you are just like a Leuca Caridea shrimp, have you been imitating those from the stream?
>She laughs and asks, finding a similarity between you and one of those shrimp that hide vertically in the mud. You would have to play as Topacio wanted, even making a gem mill if Alexandrita hadn't brought the equipment. She speaks with Topacio for a moment, but then when she tries to greet you, she only sees a gem about to fall headfirst.
(Alexandrite) H-hey, be careful.
>The albite and anorthite floor cracks due to the impact against your hardness. Naturally, gems are incredibly heavy, to the point that placing a hand on an organic creature can crush its bones; it is not something nice to experience. Nor is it pleasant to see Aragonite get angry about ruining the Academy, its walls, floors, and furniture. A flying object makes its way between the two gems by your side and falls on your head. Part of your vision is cut off and your thoughts are interrupted; a short fragment of your head falls into your lap.
>The piece of Taaffeita that almost fell to the floor is returned to its place by Alexandrite. Your inclusions all over your body hold memories and are what generate thoughts, so now a tiny part of your mind is reconnecting to what just happened. Alexandrite still looks somewhat worried about this small accident, even though several minutes have passed since it happened, perhaps. She, attentive to your questions, answers.
(Alexandrite) Uh, well no. We are going to train with the sword and watch that no shadow appears in the west.
>She repeated what Fluorite said earlier. The west is a zone of somewhat rugged beaches, high cliffs, but very green grass and blue sky. Alexandrite heard your wish to go see butterflies and, being the noble gem she is, cannot ignore any request.
(Alexandrite) Well... we can catch butterflies if you promise to go with Andalucita to have your head checked.
>Andalucita has been repairing gems for about 500 years, polishing and cutting with her gloomy attitude. Naturally, you would prefer to go see Imperial Topaz, her apprentice, rather than this unbalanced doctor. Alexandrite extends her hand and helps you up; now you would have to temporarily say goodbye to Imperial Topaz to do your duties.

>Fluorita chooses her words carefully; with over a thousand years of experience, she has dealt with countless losses of gems, partial or total. Not many gems are familiar with the concept of death—only those who study organic life or are in constant combat. For mineral lifeforms, no gem is truly dead; you just collect the parts you have of each one and put them back together. It's simple. Fluorita was somehow surprised by your understanding of the topic; perhaps she didn't expect that from such a young gem. Either way, you sensed she wouldn't place too much weight on you beyond accompanying Benitoite for a while. You don't have to be Dolomita.
(Axinita) Ugh, so heavy.
>Axinita moves her large, heavy telescope made of glassy mineral, rock, and wood to a special section of the library: the non-book storage. This place has huge windows, and even though the interior is all made of metamorphic albite and limestone, it has an aesthetic only Aragonito's furniture can provide. Aragonito is incredible working with wood and many other materials, really showing off in the construction of the shelves here. The library holds an infinite number of perfectly organized books covering geology, astronomy, pyroclast studies, histories, and reports from centuries ago. Onyx is there, though she's somewhat busy taking a book from her hands in the meteorology section.
(Axinita) Ah! Hello, Howli. Were you watching me? My luster is like that of a brown dwarf, distinct from your spectral class A; each has its own charm. Anyway, are you looking for something?
>You don't take long to greet her, and she's already talking about topics beyond the crystal earth, the sky—no, space. Axinita has been more active than ever since she exploded that star in the sky, almost like a young gem who just found what she's good at. You can understand her compliment, always referring to your fantastic luster like all the gems do. She asks what brought you to the library. Naturally, as the person in charge of this place for centuries, she's certain no one is in a place of knowledge without a clear objective in mind. You have no choice but to ask for a book written by Dolomita before she was captured.
(Axinita) Dolomita? I'm not sure she wrote anything. Dolomita... Report 315725 said she was captured by a consecutive appearance of lapilli.
(Ametrino) You keep talking about more, Axinita. Learn to read the situation.
>Ametrino's hand landed on Axinita's shoulder; she was wearing gloves, so it was unlikely she'd break it, yet Axinita reacted impatiently given the gem's near-total absence. Ametrino apparently was also in the library, not just occupying space but also overhearing your brief question. She lifts a book in her hands from one of its corners; you can read it upside down: "Innovations of the Crystal Earth, an attempt to impress Cyanite (Without jellyfish offspring)."

>Axinita reacts with ignorance to what you say, despite managing the library for 300 years she has books about Cianita, Turmalina, Topacio Mistico but none written by Dolomita. That makes you remember the detail of Axinita's birth and Dolomita's capture the same year, almost the same month.
>The cyclosilicate gem tries to think, places her hand on her temple and uses her intelligent inclusions. But this doesn't lead anywhere, only to the painful reaction of Ametrino in shame of Axinita. Ametrino is an expert in geology, geography and cartography, so that she has to collaborate almost daily with Axinita.
(Ametrino) Dolomita didn't write anything, I did. She tormented me with her ideas and crazy stories every night until I proposed to put it in a book. But… Dolomita isn't one of the gems that write very well…
>Ametrino tells you the story of Dolomita's writings. Apparently it would be a collaboration between a couple of smart gems and an adventurous one. The title of innovations is interesting, then there's that section that mentions Cianita and a parenthesis about jellies that isn't really relevant.
(Axinita) I was already surprised that you were the author of that book, Ame. I never knew where to place it.
>Axinita comments about the strange titled book and how Ametrino is the one who wrote it. Now there would be an anonymous less in the sea of information. In response Ametrino gets angry with Axinita, apparently the crazy comment regarding authorship is worth reproaching, the situation is somewhat funny.
(Ametrino) I was going to check the Sill of the Split Mountain but… Yes, I can explain you about Dolomita and her ideas.
>In the mornings, Ametrino has a singular tour and studies the geological formations of the island, although in her 502 years there's nothing new to discover, it seems she enjoys doing it. Anyway, she stays with you and suggests helping you read about Dolomita. Ametrino is one of the gems that lived at the time of this companion, you could know more through her.

>Two unknown gems are at the other end of the room, one of them with white hair is slowly retreating to the library. The other, strangely falls to the ground but does not break. This last gem feels familiar to you, as if it were a figure of great importance and very linked to your knowledge. While Padparadscha and Rubi watch this celestial hair gem on the floor, Alexandrita places the piece of your head back in place. The feeling of being reassembled again is strange, somewhat disturbing, like a continuous screeching in your mind. Your inclusions settle and you are once again complete.
(Mystic Topaz) Of course! I love the breeze of the western ocean and its little insects walking along my arms. Maybe, I will become a mollusk shell.
(Alexandrita) What?
>Topaz answered cheerfully and spoke about the organic life found on the northwest coasts. Mystic has always been a gem that would understand the behavior of certain animals to understand her own. At these words, Alexandrita reacts with confusion. Although this confusion does not extend only to what Topaz said, but also to your proposal that she accompany you. Topaz cheerfully spins around in place a couple of times, soon Alexandrita would confirm something through a question.
(Alexandrita) Mystic, when was the last time you went on patrol?
(Mystic Topaz) 150 days. Or were... 150 years.
>Topaz did not seem to be certain of her time without combat. There was the possibility that Fluorita would support her to leave the Academy, but for Alexandrita this was not the day. Being the noble gem that she is, Alexandrita would already be thinking of something to compensate for Topaz's intentions.
>The long grass slides over your luster as you advance alongside Alexandrita. Mystic Topaz waves goodbye with a strong hand from far away, with a big smile. Behind you is the academy, a large white structure, your home. And above you, beyond the sky these two visible stars, one of them every day and another that exploded at an unimaginable distance according to Axinita. They are surrounding the lake heading towards the northwest coasts, Alexandrita does not take long to direct certain words to you.
(Alexandrita) Taaffeita, Fluorita gave you the job of patrolling, right? Each gem has some specialty and Topaz Mystic's was never combat, but to care for organic life. Our duty is also to care, to protect our sisters. Do you remember class 3 and 4 of attacking pyroclasts? And class 2 of reconnaissance pyroclasts?
>She gave a small speech in accordance with her personality and then asked you about enemy species and how they are classified by their form. Class 3 pyroclasts are two medium lapilli figures and a large tuff, class 4 pyroclast is a giant bomb and part in ash. Finally, the reconnaissance type 2 is just ash and faster shadows.

>Gemstone
Kunzite
>Appearance
It used to be pink but lost its color over the years due to excessive light exposure. Its lack of inclusions makes it almost transparent. It glows in the dark.
>Personality
Forgetful. Tends to just go with the flow or stay still and analyze things silently whenever it finds itself in a situation it doesn't remember how it got into.
>Age
25
>History
Its inability to retain information and the sporadic way older memories of things that happened long ago return to it without warning made it difficult to adapt to any type of work. It requires constant supervision from at least another gem so as not to forget even the most basic things like its name and those of others, that it shouldn't touch them directly, and the work it has to do that day.
I don't understand this well, I hope there are no inconsistencies.

>The light of morning filters between the pillars of the Academy, it's the light of the sun and of another star that temporarily hangs in space. It's 8:10 and a long time has passed since the morning meeting of Fluorita, you would have gotten lost on the way when another gem asked you to wait in the room that connects all the rooms. Naturally it's deserted, most are in their work and missions, but there are certain gems that especially don't do much of that. The diamond's glow is excessively blinding, its yellow color wanders among the connections of the Academy. Not much time passed before she found you and led you to this destination you had forgotten.
(Yellow Diamond) Your glow is beautiful, transparent. It also hurts my eyes. It's a problem I've carried barely the last century.
>The diamond runs her hands over one of her long strands of hair, this yellow reaches up to her ankles and almost seems to cover her completely when looking at her from behind. Her voice is weak, probably she's a bit sad about her situation, but she maintains a certain elegance that seems rooted in her inclusions.
(Yellow Diamond) But don't lose heart, right now she needs you. Take care of us this winter. As in your other lives.
>She gave you a small push to enter the library, there Axinita, Howlita, Ametrino and Onix were. Axinita organizes the books as always, it seems she doesn't notice your entrance. Howlita and Ametrino are at one of the tables talking with a book between them. Finally Onix is recognized as a known gem, she soon goes towards where you are.
(Onix) Oh, you're here. I was worried about having to look for you today too.
>The gem made of silica crossed her arms, her face rarely changed in sober and frank features. Onix this morning would have accompanied you to the library after Fluorita gave her the task of taking care of you, but your lateness was expected and Onix understands that. Anyway she invites you to continue the conversation from yesterday.
(Onix) Come, sit down. (...) Fluorita told me to teach you everything about winter, she believes you'll be indispensable and…
>Suddenly a blow hits the table cracking part of this wooden element and part albita-anortita. What fell very hard is the head of Onix, apparently she fell completely asleep, even when the light filters through the large window of the library. Onix is the guardian of winter and given that she maintains an entire season in minimal light conditions, she has these continuous sleep problems that hinder her meteorological work.
Don't worry anon, I'll explain the world through dialogues or directly by elaborating between turns.

>Her first step down the desolate hallway could have been her first step in life. She could have woken up seconds ago or started existing at that very moment, for all she knew.
>She didn't feel like she had been moving before that so she decided to stay still as she was after that first step and analyze the situation.
>There was light so it was daytime. She was alone in the room so she couldn't have been talking to someone. She was complete and her body was intact so she couldn't have been patrolling or fighting.
>Patrolling? Fighting? Why did those words come to her first? Was it something she did normally? Another brighter light than the sun distracted her from these thoughts and made her remember that she wasn't good with bright lights before the gem mentioned it.
Your light is beautiful too. It's strong, just like you. It's obvious you're a diamond.
>Were diamonds the hardest? It sounded natural when he said it, just like his comments about the last century and the harmfulness of light. She accepted everything as a fact.
I will.
>Who was the 'her' that needed her? The one she had to meet or the one she should meet? She couldn't determine if being needed was a good thing or not and tried to sound confident with her answer, something very difficult for her. The most she could manage was sounding neutral.
>The other gem she met after the door through which she was pushed could be recognized immediately, a relief, she was starting to adapt.
>She simply nodded to what Onix said and sat where she was told.
Oh. Wow.
>That was the first thing she said when she saw her fall asleep. She thought about touching her to wake her up and had a brief flinch before making contact. She first confirmed that she had gloves before placing a finger on the other gem. Would they be at risk of breaking? What were their hardness levels? Could she even wake her up just by touching her?
Onix fell asleep.
>She called the other gems in the library in a not very loud or hurried voice, trying to only touch the head of Onix without lifting it to avoid the risk of dropping her and making her hit the table again.
Can someone help me wake her up? She was teaching me about winter.
I watched the first season of houseki years ago and remember little, including the winter stuff. In fact, I was wondering if it applied to working night shifts because of the light, but since it'll be day for months in the role.

>The yellow gem showed a certain joy at the moment of parting from you, different from its previous words filled with a feeling of sadness, forgetfulness. Perhaps with this you would have remembered something about yellow diamond and its long life, of at least a couple of thousand years in which it would have been considered an incredibly strong gem with precise reactions. Fluorita had no problem in revisiting day after day each gem you had forgotten, after all your time as her student extended more than for any other.
>Now the head of Onix is stuck to the wooden table, the furniture made by Aragonito is capable of resisting the weight of this heavy rock. In part because it is made of the same minerals found on the floors and walls. Anyway, now that Onix entered a deep sleep, the call to wake up does not work. The sound of the hit and your voice is heard by the gems present there. The reaction of Howlita and Ametrino would make you think they did not expect this.
(Axinita) Uh… ¿!Onix?! This would be already the second time today.
>Behind the long rows of bookshelves you hear the voice of Axinita who was organizing until the hit happened. After identifying the gem responsible for falling asleep she comments on the condition of Onix and heads towards where you two are. Soon she would come out from among the books with a magnifying glass in her hands and would see you somewhat impressed.
(Axinita) ¿Kunzita? ¿When did you enter? Well ¿Do you remember me? I am Axinita. I could not forget your unique shine. ¡The young gems are so cute!
>Axinita declares with a big smile on her face, apparently she is a friendly gem just like Yellow Diamond. Naturally her way of referring to others is by starting with their shine and highlights yours. She is so attentive to your presence that she would almost forget that a gem is submerging its head into a wooden table.
(Axinita) Oh, I'm sorry. You are hardness 6.5-7, you could hold its head, please.
>Axinita indicates the hardness of Onix, 7 being quartz, there would be no problem in touching it with bare hands, perhaps if you make sudden movements the one that would break would be you. Anyway, Axinita trusts you and approaching Onix in this way, she opens one eye and focuses the rays of the sun on its iris. Your inclusions almost forget your nature as a gem and indicate that it is something strange, but after a second Onix begins to move more naturally. Onix soon realizes that it had fallen asleep, thanks both of you and promises to stop doing that. Axinita shows that expression of I've done it on her face.
(Onix) Well, today's class will be quick, I will go to sleep soon. Assuming that you remember everything we covered yesterday and the day before, I will explain about the frozen bubbles of the north and then we will go see Diopsido.
>Due to your absence from the morning meeting Onix explains about your work and mission for today, which are practically linked to hers. About the bubbles she mentions you have some idea of structures created by clusters of ice and with certain internal shine, about Diopsido it is a green gem whose work is related to wood and paper.
(Onix) If you don't remember anything or very little of this, just tell me. Fluorita would not choose someone impatient to stay alone for 88 days.
>Onix says the last part with a half-smile, it is one of her better attempts in creating a pleasant expression on her serious face.

>Heard the voice of someone she couldn't see, calling a name. Onix? That wasn't her name, was it? What had she done for the second time today? The other gem showed her impressed expression of what she felt in these situations.
>Of course, Kunzita. That sounded like her name.
I just came in.
>Supposedly. If the library supervisor hadn't seen her arrive despite being inside, she couldn't have been here long. Or was she trying to make sure she didn't see her? Was she avoiding this gem for some reason?
Thank you.
>She nodded when asked if she remembered, despite feeling like it was the first time she'd heard her name spoken aloud. So she was young? Younger than this gem, at least.
Oh, wow.
>When she turned her head to see what the gem was seeing, she realized she was touching a sleeping gem. This was the Onix she was talking about. She remembered her name, but not her numbers, only her own. Should she remember the numbers of other gems too? It sounded like too much to ask for her.
Of course.
>If someone was giving her instructions, she could operate with full confidence, no gem would have a reason to deceive her for doing something improper, what would they gain from that? She held Onix's head as naturally as the world and let Axinita do her part.
>Of course. She couldn't have awakened Onix just by touching her, she needed light. But if she had known that in any case, she had no way of concentrating the light in her eye like she did, or could she?
>She smiled at Axinita when she saw her proud expression and attended her lessons with Onix.
Frozen bubbles...
>She murmured the word. The word seemed peculiar but not completely unfamiliar to her tongue as it passed through her. Some information surfaced when she heard those names aloud but she had no way of knowing if it was all or just a part, she didn't feel like it was much.
I remember little...
>Were 88 days a lot of time? Maybe to be alone. It would depend on the context. If she felt like someone patient, normally it was the other gems who needed to be patient with her.

>Axinita picked up the pile of books that were on the other table, she then helped them with this small crisis and returned to complete her tasks. You wouldn't know if she were a lost gem or incredibly responsible for her task, to the point that all her attention is focused on the order she is meant to create. Among the countless rows of shelves you can occasionally hear her words of Cielos, this goes here or I should organize this again. On the other table, closer to the door, are Ametrino and Howlita apparently reading a book (>>7353) the purple and yellow gem crosses her arms and speaks calmly and quietly, while the other with white hair seems attentive to this information.
(Onix) You don't have to worry, I'll accompany you as long as my inclusions allow me.
>Onix yawns due to the tiredness. She is perceptive enough to identify the unique expressions on your face when she mentions loneliness and a lot of days.
(Onix) At least, during the winter, I'll always be awake. Also Axinita can't help but wake up to check her precious texts, although she later regrets it in spring.
>Axinita the gem from a while ago, is very devoted to her work, to the point that she is capable of leaving hibernation to walk around the Academy, although this brings consequences the following season. Onix assures to guide you, advise you, and provide any type of information that revives your memories, although it's not totally Fluorita's mission, it says a lot of her as a mentor.
(Onix) After all, I'm a quartz, a silicate oxide. She is a cyclosilicate and you are an inosilicate. Unlike the corundums and diamonds, we can resist sleep and the lack of light a bit more.
>Despite shining with such intensity, diamonds fall incredibly easily to sleep. Onix refers to Fluorita's words about a certain index of light refraction. Soon she would finish this small speech regarding you, your abilities and those of the others. Her red corundum eyes light up with the light from the window when she prepares to speak about winter and its characteristics. Onix makes you pay full attention.
(Onix) Every year, during the winter, bubbles of ice emerge from the bottom of the sea containing perfect hexagonal diamonds inside. We must remove the bubbles from the strong waters and the small birds. When a bubble breaks, it emits a screeching sound capable of breaking gems of hardness 4 or less if they are close, as well as waking up our sisters from sleep. At the end of winter, I return each bubble to the deep waters.
>She would use the pencil that Axinita left on the table and slid one of the several papers that were in the center. The drawing that Onix made showed an accurate image of such structures over the floating ice blocks in the sea. You never passed winter awake so you would never have imagined these structures on your own. Next to the drawing was another that seemed something cute about those birds she mentioned, she called them penguins. Onix plays with the pencil in her hands and asks you if you have any doubts.

>Ametrino hands you the book for a quick review. The content of the first 45 pages is similar; they are breeding methods for jellyfish and various types of them. Their habitat, life cycle, diet, and mineral adaptation. Some species synthesize the planet's high mineral content to create hard parts. The following pages do not deal with organic life.
(Ametrino) That part is from Mystic Topaz; at that time it was spring and Diopside hadn't finished making much paper yet.
>She makes the comment, and her words seem credible. After winter, some things spoil, including part of Diopside's work area, who is in charge of making paper.
(Ametrino) This is interesting, about the hot glow.
(Dolomite) 299451. Today Fluorite wanted me to help Aragonite. Wood and rock everywhere in her work area; with only 200 years, Aragonite has already become a maniac. I thought about giving her a lesson, but she had these volcanic elements on that rock, and accidentally I dropped this high-metal-content mineral. What came out of it seemed like a fluid, only it rose upward and spread through the wood. It emits light, but it's a somewhat annoying light; it left my hands covered in black dust. I called it hot glow because it changed Alexandrite's colors to red, then Fluorite told me it was called fire. It has no use at all, only changes Alexandrite's mood to a more irritating one, but I told everyone I'd find some use for it.
>You would know about this element; apparently after the incident that burned down Aragonite's workshop, Fluorite began adding the topic to courses for new gems. After all, if someone plays with fire, even by accident, they could burn down the forest and who knows what other disaster.
(Dolomita) 299456. Today Benitoite and I went out to patrol; no shadows appeared all day, so we covered the entire Broken Forest. Benito wanted to explore the Luminous Cave, but I climbed a tree and found a bird's nest there. Organic beings are fascinating; every time I see one, it seems different. Fluorita says they're generational, whatever that means. Despite their limited lifespan, these species can do amazing things like fly. Watermelon Tourmaline said their bodies are partly mineral, like us. I told Bort all about it, and he helped me bring two rock pillars from the Initial Accidents, plus a large basalt rock that we hoisted onto the Academy's roof. Bort tossed the rock toward the tip of one of these pillars, and I rose a couple of meters. Even jumping, I could've reached higher. Then the rock crushed me, and Andalucita went mad. Some fragments are so small they can't rejoin my body; she had to use part of my hair to fill the gaps.
>When gems shatter in exaggerated ways, there are body parts that can't be recovered. Andalucita decides to cut off other body parts and add them to the openings. Because of this, memories and parts of personality tend to be lost.
(Dolomita) 299465. Chrysocolla got damaged today by the sea currents; she's hardness 2.5–3.5, while Kyanite is 4.5–5. I want to do something for Chrysocolla and for Kyanite, who worries the most. I've been in the sea, and strong marine currents carry silicate particles that can erode even a diamond. Benitoite told me about the growing fiber in the eastern zone; apparently, it's drawn to Hessonite's work on fabrics and clothing. Somehow, when she weaves these resistant threads, she can create textiles. Maybe, if the holes between the fabrics are smaller than a particle's size, they couldn't penetrate. I proposed this to Benito, and we worked through seasons; soon Chrysocolla and Kyanite will be wearing a mesh that won't affect their fragile hardness. The result was a full-body layer; Kyanite looks impressed. I should ask Fluorita about the size of pyroclastic particles.
>Ametrine would continue summarizing Dolomita's reading, but suddenly a thud against the table echoes in the library. (>>7359) Onix fell asleep, and Axinite does her best to wake her; Kunzite is there too. Ametrine mentions how tired Onix has been lately, then asks you.
(Ametrine) It looks like a kind of armor, isn't it your idea?

>I was in the library, during the day, between a gem who was working diligently somewhere invisible from her position in front of the table. Apart from her there were two others reading not too far away, and Onix, who was with her at the table, telling her something important, to which she could only nod as a response... Tongue?
>She dismissed the thought to focus, it seemed she was in the middle of something important that she shouldn't miss. Would she be alone with Onix and Axinita for a while? It didn't sound bad, Onix was easy to recognize and if Axinita was in charge of the library she must be someone responsible. It would be fine under her care, both seemed kind and patient.
>She didn't want to interrupt Onix's explanation with questions until he finished, there would be a higher chance of absorbing all the information she needed before the next lapse in her memory.
How do you remove the bubbles? Won't they break if you touch them? Do you return them the same way?
>Her hardness wasn't four and she would spend the winter awake so it wouldn't be a problem for her if they broke in her hands, only for the sisters of Onix. No, the sisters of both, who were different from both. Would her job be to remove the bubbles and return them? It didn't sound difficult, she could do it if she had company.
>She rested her head on the table by her chin to look at the image up close.

>Some animals are affected by being near the sea, the coast. For example, some birds perch on the highest cliffs, unlike their home near the forest and the large plain where the Academy is. The wind of the coast doesn't affect you, instead it's the reflection of the sunlight on the sea, which is something special. It seems to bring Alexandrita some calm. While they traverse each high edge along the rugged northwest coast, your companion responds with an infectious enthusiasm. She asked you a moment ago about some types of enemy formations, to which you responded creatively.
(Alexandrita) Hey, take it easy! Has Tanzanita been instructing you all this time?
>She exaggerated, your imitation was minimally similar, but regardless, Alexandrita was in a good mood. Her blue hair becomes more prominent with each second spent near the sea. She mentions Tanzanita, a intense blue gem, who is in charge of everything related to pyroclasts. Tanzanita has a sickly and somewhat gloomy personality, but her knowledge of enemies is unmatched.
(Alexandrita) In reality, they move more like this.
>Alexandrita swung her sword in a spiral, trajectory of an insect when it takes flight. She doesn't have a problem correcting your knowledge about pyroclasts and having fun in the process. The wind blows a bit stronger. 8:33, on the arena 50 meters from you, a part of the beach darkens. In an instant, from within the earth, a dark structure emerges as if removing part of the environment creating a hole. Alexandrita notices it even before you do, she presses your back to make you crouch down to the height of the grass.
(Alexandrita) Look, they're type 3, explorers. They haven't seen us yet.
>Two figures made from a pile of dust slide across the earth and traverse the area where they appeared. You recognize these two shadows as ashes, about the size of a quarter of a common gem. Another being is at the center of the black platform, this one measures three quarters and its composition is more granular, it's a lapilli. You step back along with Alexandrita and they are out of the line of sight of the pyroclasts on the beach.
(Alexandrita) Taaffeita, return the way we came. In the forest is Aragonito. Meet up with her, tell her to ring the bell three times and to take shelter in the Academy. Then return to me.
>She gives you instructions, the enemy groups are located under the cliff on the beach. Alexandrita doesn't seem to have the intention of finishing them off yet. The one who rings the bell three times brings together the second patrol group with the first or vice versa, Almandino and Moissanita would come to finish the problem and Aragonito, a gem of hardness 3.5-4, would be out of danger.

>The axinite pencil has its name written on it, specifically what Onix refers to as a pencil is a piece of wood with a tip of a certain dark mineral that leaves its residue on paper. So she drew the bubbles that explained she was doing work dealing with them, the penguin next to her had eyes somewhat discordant from the rest of its body, maybe they were too big. You ask Onix some questions after she has explained it to you.
(Onix) The bubbles are made of ice, they have a thickness of 2 to 5 centimeters. Normally I keep them in Benitoíta's room. That place is full of pillows and stuffed toys, it's very convenient.
>Benitoíta's room, you would associate this place with something soft and where you can leave fragile things. Benitoíta is a gem that apparently you also know, something tells you that her work has to do with fabrics and soft things. By how Onix mentioned that detail, it seems like she would have been leaving ice bubbles in this gem's room without her permission. It would be something bad, but Onix resorts to her duties as a guardian of winter at a higher level and doesn't stop using private spaces.
(Onix) The main problem is collecting them when they barely emerge.
>Certainly, the presence of strong waters or intervention of animals as soon as a bubble comes out of the sea would be the most complicated time correction. In response to the mention of those northern birds, you would formulate a curious question to Onix. She reacts unexpectedly.
(Onix) Tongue? I, haven't opened my mouth to any penguin before. I mean… I've seen them eat fish, I think figuring something like that is work for Topacio or Turmalina.
>It seems she doesn't know much about those animals, she mentions two gems that supposedly know more about the subject. The "eating" would be a process that only organic beings perform. You have a cavity in your face, your mouth, and inside of it you also have a tongue, but at the bottom there is no hole through which "food" would pass. Onix seemed somewhat confused at your idea at first, soon she would stand up from the table.
(Onix) Well, it's time. We will go see Diopsido. She is an Inosilicato, like you.

>Onix was drawing using a pencil with the name of another gem, it was peculiar but not the main focus of his attention, he was also talking about something.
>Bubble. She recognized that term. She could associate it with the structures drawn on paper just as well as she remembered the concept of this without hearing it named, just like the softness of things made of fabric.
Can I keep it?
>She asked, referring to the drawing. Something like this would be useful. If she received an affirmative answer, she would also ask for the pencil to assign names to the bubbles and the small birds, writing them a few centimeters above each one, adding to this a short instruction to Save in the soft room.
>Despite having seen Onix use the pencil without any problems, she was careful not to break it while writing and returning it. Whether it was hers or not, she would know better than she would what to do with it or where to leave it, she would only need the paper.
Thank you. Let's go.
>Onix explained about a more strange topic with a funny face. She didn't understand why he was talking about this but it seemed amusing...
>She stood up from the table ready to follow Onix, inspecting her own mouth meanwhile with the hand that would not be holding the paper. She first ran her tongue over the inside of her mouth, then after brushing every corner of it, she would run it over the outside, and finally over her fingers, trying to determine any difference in what she perceived with all this, more than the hardness or lack of softness of her body.
>She made sure not to lose sight of Onix's back amidst all this, she was interested in meeting a gem like her, regardless of whether she had already met her before and wouldn't miss the opportunity by getting lost in another room.

>Dolomita's book was half biology due to the intervention of the Mystic Topaz. The second oldest gem would have a certain obsession with organic life forms, despite seeming somewhat lost most of the time, it seems she's efficient in everything related to animals and plants. The rest of the book was written by Dolomita with the assistance of Ametrino, apparently it was a work that took experiences from different time periods and then, from a certain point, she would not have taken it up again. The life of gems is long-lived, a day can be dedicated to a different aspect than their work, leave it and return to it decades or even centuries later. Through this window into a past of 300 years you know how Dolomita behaved, being curious and reckless, like an adventurer or partly an inventor. What Benitoíta, according to Fluorita, saw in you of Dolomita definitely wasn't your way of acting, possibly your appearance.
>Ametrino finishes the reading, she seemed happy to have been able to help you a little with your armor work. After all, Ametrino is a gem that spends most of her time alone and her map and full island reconnaissance jobs would only help Axinita and Fluorita. The book is closed now, you ask Ametrino a question.
(Ametrino) Well, to tell the truth, I've never heard more about that material apart from what Dolomita came up with as a prototype.
>Being as Dolomita was, after making that small gesture to Crisocola and Cianita, she would have focused on some other task or crazy idea to explode. Not forgetting her patrol work which was most of the time alongside Benito. Dolomita's writings are from 340 years ago and the day she was captured was 322 years ago. Ametrino answers with the truth, but in front of your gaze she can't help suggesting an alternative that would serve you satisfactorily.
(Ametrino) Crisocola used the anti-erosion cloak and Benitoíta helped synthesize it. Perhaps, one of them has the answer.
>Cianita, the original gem to whom Dolomita made the gift, was captured 220 years ago, now only Crisocola remains as her successor in recording the marine depths. Curiously today, Crisocola would be at the bottom of the lake instead of the bottom of some coast, Fluorita said that in this morning's meeting. Possibly Benitoíta is in her work area organizing, disorganizing, and reorganizing the autumn clothes.

>Axinita's pencil and the paper with Onix's drawing, these two items are pointed out and Onix attends as you want to keep them. The quartz takes the two items and gives them to you in your hands before they leave the library. Apparently, although this drawing tool belongs to Axinita, Onix has no problem taking it and giving it to you. While crossing the threshold of the door, Onix talks to you. Axinita says goodbye to you two innocently.
(Onix) Yes, that was actually the idea. Diopsido works with paper, yesterday I asked him to do something for you.
>She smiles, it seems that the drawing thing was something totally suited for you. Then she mentions about the gem they are going to visit. Part of Onix's surprise is revealed, because it has something to do with paper and pencil. Anyway, she looks excited to take you to that place, ignoring almost completely the sleep that is bothering her.
(Onix) Are you okay? That's something strange.
>She asks something disturbed by what you are doing. The inside of your mouth is not hard nor soft, it is not wet and also does not have the artificial sheen that all gems above the skin have. There are teeth, but these are perfect and not made to bite something, they seem more like made for simple aesthetics. Behind the natural sheen that Andalucita and Imperial Topaz apply to the gems, there is a pure mineral body. When you press your mouth with your hands it is like touching any other part of your body, there is no difference at all. Onix waits for you to finish doing that and then adds.
(Onix) You cannot break yourself by yourself, it means your inclusions are working correctly. Our inclusions are everything, mind, thought, movement and memory-
>Suddenly she cuts off and you hear some brief apologies from her side. Probably you would forget this, but it is still something proper of Kunzita and Onix understands it. Maybe your lack of memory is due to an instability of your inclusions or maybe there are other alternatives, light is another possible one.
>The library's journey is short, just go down the stairs through the main hall and around the same for walking 20 meters east and there would be Diopsido's workshop. Onix crosses the threshold of the door and you follow her, inside it is a somewhat bulky place, there are all kinds of things made of wood and tools that at first glance you don't understand their use. The walls are covered by papers and on them there are letters that form certain words and reminders. Where there are no papers, there are windows and many towards the outside, they show a calm view of the crystalline land.
(Diopsido) Uh. Hello. Onix? And you?
>The green gem greets and barely recognizes Onix, regarding you she stays halfway through the word. Diopsido would not take long to check one of the papers on the desk, this one said TODAY in big letters and the top of the sheet. Now, she mentions you and then asks.
(Diopsido) Kunzita… You're Kunzita, right?
>Diopsido's face is partly expressionless, unlike Onix who had a serious look or Axinita with marked kindness. Diopsido seems detached from the situation. After the greetings, Onix asks Diopsido with hope.
(Onix) Diopsi, did you do what I asked you yesterday night?
(Diopsido) What?
(Onix) The notebook, for her. Something that she can carry in her hands and write on. Don't you have it?
>Onix was referring to something that was not a book, but similar. If you were to look around the room, apart from the various tables and shelves with wood, papers and books, a few meters from Diopsido there was an element similar to a book, but that opened differently and if you check inside it was completely blank.

>Ametrino was holding the dolomite book in her hands, just like Axinita, she would also have a certain problem of where to put it. After commenting on how difficult the process was, she assured that she would separate the content of the medusas from Topacio and the ideas of Dolomita. Ametrino is a regular in the library and wouldn't have to ask Axinita to do it. When you leave, Ametrino says goodbye to you, she looks happy. It wouldn't take much time transcribing the content of the Dolomita book, then you could find her in the sill of a certain region in the northeast. Your direction is traced and is towards the work area of Benitoíta, this place is located within the Academy but in a certain secluded area of the second floor. The proximity of this place to the rooms is creepy. Maybe Fluorita should reorganize the usual work zones of the gems.
(Benitoíta) Hey! Howli, new partner. What brings you here? Are you going to remodel your outfit into a patrol and combat one? In fact, I've already been advancing with something like that.
>Benito greets you naturally. She seems to be working on something, part of the fabric she uses is shiny and is a deep blue. She mentions that her work is directed towards what happened a while ago, about joining to patrol. It seems she has completely regained her spirits after the meeting. Now she not only agrees with Fluorita's mission, she's more dynamic and asks questions easily and fluently. Without deviating from the topic you would ask her about that prototype that Dolomita mentioned in her book, one in which she worked on and was useful under the sea.
(Benitoíta) The anti-erosion outfit of Crisocola? That one broke a long time ago. It had a fundamental defect in the material composition. Although it's also partly Crisocola's fault.
>Benito answers honestly. She doesn't seem very proud of that creation, although it was innovative, part of the improvisation of the same made it imperfect. She spoke of Crisocola, left the work and told you a bit more about the experience of this gem.
(Benitoíta) She ventured into turbulent waters and a strong current made her crash against a volcanic rock with a pointed shape. It broke into two along with the clothes that Dolomita made for her. If it weren't for Fluorita, we would have lost her, and Crisocola.
>Benito laughs a bit and, seeing your worried face, wouldn't take long to continue. For her, it seemed you lost your spirit regarding the material, but winks an eye and answers you in a way of revelation.
(Benitoíta) I've solved the problem of that type of outfit a long time ago. You see, our body is composed of microscopic inclusions and part of those inclusions retain elements that generate our colors. Up to there, that's all Fluorita said. However, you must know that part of our inclusions can release the elements they retain, she used that to give colors to the clothes that all of you wear. Isn't that great? Do you want to see it?
>The ability to give physical properties to other crystalline structures, during your learning period with Fluorita you would have heard something similar. As some gems can contain metallic elements inside and use skills apparently unknown. Uranocircita, a gem of your generation is an example of that.

>This morning, Fluorite reminded you about Benito's former partner. The fact that the two of you are now a team might somehow awaken memories of loss in Benito, possibly causing her to take time to accept you again or revert to an unstable state. For now, Benito seems as lively as ever; just like last night, she was working hard in her textile room. The place is filled with fabrics everywhere, designs on the walls, shelves holding jars of strange substances, and a large table covered in papers, wooden and stone artifacts, containers of water, and various other things. Proud of your affirmative response, Benito begins explaining the process to you.
(Benitoíta) Alright, the first thing you need to know is how to differentiate between silica fiber and the silky complex. Occasionally, I gather materials from the area known as Rough Beginnings, where gems are born and quartz, tridymite, and cristobalite monoliths grow. Mystical Topaz provides me with the organic fabric produced by her caterpillars. The first thing Hessonite taught me was making the silky complex—it's an orderly coating of silicon dioxide over each organic fiber. I usually use quartz material, which my inclusions instantly reorganize. To obtain colors, I use certain impurities.
>She points out those jars containing substances—iron, calcium, aluminum, potassium—various elements apparently in pure form, which she keeps stored. She'd take a tiny amount of aluminum powder and press it with her hands for a few seconds, then bring it close to a piece of silica that appears to be quartz. Slowly, the small quartz specimen would tint into a soft yellow.
(Benitoíta) For some reason, I'm unable to perform this process with any material that doesn't come from that place. Fluorite assured me the silica emerging there is pure and inclusion-free, unlike us. It's just a curiosity.
>She makes the comment while retrieving some organic material from a wooden box labeled "donations from Topaz." When she brings together the yellow quartz—citrine—and the fine threads, the whole bundle appears to be absorbed into her hands in a somewhat disturbing way, like porous rocks soaking up stagnant water. After a few seconds, she opens her hands.
(Benitoíta) Voilà, here you go! It's somewhat imperfect.
>Benito shows you the improvised result of her work. Naturally, it doesn't look like anything a gem should wear—it resembles a three-dimensional scribble made of fabric and yellow crystals. She assures you the actual process takes much longer than this simple demonstration. Regarding your questions about the highly resistant material, she continues.
(Benitoíta) Chrysocolla's suit is made with a high content of silica fiber. Given the great purity of the source mineral, my inclusions can generate the precise heat and pressure needed to recrystallize the silica. Trigonal, hexagonal, triclinic, tetragonal systems—each has its own particularity. If I'm correct, we can create silky complexes that increase any gem's hardness to a range of 5–7.
>She states confidently; it seems Benito doesn't doubt her abilities even slightly. After all, she took Hessonite's knowledge and developed it to the point where she's now a full expert—centuries of work bearing fruit.
(Benitoíta) If only we had pure diamond, we could synthesize fibers with a hardness of 10.

>Doubted taking the pencil that had the name of another gem for a moment but when seeing that neither Onix mentioned anything about it nor the gem in question — whom she recognized as the name on the pencil upon seeing her face — showed any form of annoyance, she accepted it and said goodbye to her as well.
Did you do that for me? Thank you.
>She returned Onix's smile with one of her own. Receiving something excited her as much as the consideration Onix showed her. It felt good to have a gem so reliable watching over her, it was good to see her enthusiastic.
¿Do eds?
>If he said that then it must be true. She stopped experimenting with her tongue and put it back in its natural resting place inside her mouth. She couldn't have been doing something so important anyway.
It's not a problem that you mention it. I understand.
>That abrupt cut-off of what she was saying concerned her only for an instant, her lack of memory was something she easily recognized as a constant problem and not something that had just happened to her for the first time every time it occurred. If it were taboo to speak of this aloud, it would be more complicated to find solutions or discover the origin of the problem. If the problem lay in the functioning of her inclusions or something else, then it would already be becoming apparent.
>Along the way she cast some glances outside in search of the bubbles that the paper in her hand said she should Save. Was this something she should do now or later? Nothing around her resembled what she saw on the paper, although the presence of the birds called penguins indicated that she should look for those bubbles outside. She didn't get too distracted by it, Onix told her they were going to see someone.
Yes. I'm Kunzita.
>It was easier to answer that question than to remember her name, and not just because the probability of being correct was 50%, she was sure that name belonged to her just by hearing it.
>Dipsido's lack of expression was reassuring. She didn't feel the need to emulate his expression or force herself to analyze what kind of social situation she was in.
Is this it?
>He pointed to the item that fit the description of Onix and couldn't recognize it by any other name. He didn't dare touch it, to not disturb the specific way Dipsido organized her belongings.

>Ónix didn't care that you took Axinita's pencil, from the beginning she would have taken that paper from the table and commented on protecting the bubbles in the room of another gem. Maybe you didn't remember, or you would have noticed later, but she was a somewhat bold gem, even now she would have made it noticeable. Ónix approached and took the notebook from the table to the right of the seat. Diópsido saw it, but didn't take it seriously. Some other papers were underneath that notebook, it was like the one Diópsido had in his hands a moment ago, but instead of HOY, it said KUNZITA. Onix took the object from one of its corners and showed it to you.
(Ónix) Of course it is! This notebook will help you remember many things, you can use that pencil to draw or write.
>She slid the notebook's cover back and showed you the perfect white pages ready to be ruled in different ways. Ónix would soon give you the notebook and give you very easy instructions to follow. Ónix looked happy with your new acquisition, but the time between when they greeted Diópsido and said goodbye was very short, it felt rushed.
(Ónix) Thank you for everything, Diópsido. Let's go now.
>The conversation between Ónix and Diópsido didn't continue. It seems the similarity between Diópsido and you would be based on how each one writes important information to review later. Still, Diópsido seems not to have a marked problem with her memory, she is able to work with large quantities of paper that didn't seem to have been made today, she doesn't forget her job as a gem. Before Ónix and you completely turned your backs on her, Diópsido stopped you with words.
(Diópsido) Wait. About that gem. Yes... I noted it last night. Kunzita, a treatment for her inclusions.
(Ónix) Where did that come from? I'm sure we would have forgotten that part of the conversation.
>Ónix shows a smile close to fake, as if she had hope that the deal would still take place. Diópsido has in her hands the sheet of paper that titles KUNZITA and was underneath your notebook. The green gem doesn't change her expression, she responds with a piece of information.
(Diópsido) Onix, for 862 years I have kept a daily record of our activities for Fluorita.
(Ónix) And what does that matter? 315 years ago Axinita took your position, isn't that right?
>In response to Diópsido's apparent justification, Ónix counters with a fact. Now she had changed her friendly face for a frustrated one.
(Diópsido) Yes. But... yesterday I was convinced this was important.
(Ónix) It turns out it wasn't.
>Diópsido seems to have good intentions, although her face doesn't confirm extreme decisiveness. Onix ends the short discussion abruptly. Suddenly the sound of a bell is heard, three strikes of the bell in front of the Academy, it seems there is an attack of Piroclastos somewhere at the extreme end of the island. Ónix takes the opportunity to cross the threshold of the door towards the hallway on the way back.
(Diópsido) Who said that? Ónix or Cornalina?
>The red cut in Ónix's eyes is different from the rest of her white and black composition. A brief memory could surface in your mind upon hearing the word Cornalina, they are a couple of words, quartz multi-layers. Ónix can't help but stop, at that time Diópsido adds.
(Diópsido) It's not a choice if you don't show her all her alternatives.
>Ónix's expression is complex, it seems to be about you. Diópsido removes some papers hanging on the left wall. A wooden door is found behind the mess of paper, it wasn't visible due to the place's bulk. Ónix doesn't take long to slowly nod.
(Ónix) Alright.
(Diópsido) Let's go outside.

>The leaves of the trees fall slowly to the ground, the black and fast trail of both ashes leave an uneven terrain. The movement of both dark figures is double spiral, however the atmosphere is not as wide as their enemies expected. The ashes collide against tree trunks and cut part of the wood, they disintegrate and regroup. These two small volcanic forms approach at great speed, but Alexandrita and you are fully on guard, they can attack first.
>Alexandrita cuts the first ash in half, this stops its acceleration but its speed continues. A large part of the tiny elements that compose the body of the ashes crash directly against Alexandrita's face but do nothing to her. Once the pyroclasts receive a certain amount of damage, they turn into complete dust and are unable to break the gems, Alexandrita managed to do that before any fracture on her face.
>The ash approaches and you cut forward, at the same time as Alexandrita, by inertia the rest of the body of the ash crashes against you, but you receive no damage only a strange feeling of wind and dust, like ants walking rapidly across your face. Alexandrita observes your performance, she seems proud.
(Alexandrita) Perfect, Taaffe. You're really good at this. Let's continue!
>For Alexandrita, the fact that Fluorita gave you this task stopped being an error a long time ago, actions like these confirm it. She takes the initiative and together you approach back to the beach, over the elevated area. Alexandrita is fast, but you can keep up with her. During the seconds of travel she asks you about the main way to discourage these attacks. The answer is eliminating the figure or figures largest of its small army. Once the main pyroclast is defeated, the others stop regenerating and retreat filling the hole with their original material again.
(Alexandrita) We'll go both.
>She pointed at the lapilli that still remains stoic in the middle of the black structure. The figure of 3/4 still does not seem to notice its presence, only the ashes, maybe they don't have a way to communicate. Before they charged against her, unexpectedly from the right flank a new pair of ashes, third and fourth, hit Alexandrita. The pair of ashes slipped through the imperfect openings between the cliff and the beach, attacked Alexandrita by surprise who couldn't avoid damage. Now Alexandrita is about 20 meters above the ground and the ashes 5. The speed of Alex decreases, while the speed of the ashes increases. The two enemy figures are still connected to the ground through thin columns made of their own material. Alex would plan to reposition herself in the air and cut both as they fall, she can do it perfectly, but she doesn't take long to notice a certain detail.
(Alex) ¿Zafiro?!
>The lapilli found Alexandrita in its field of vision. What seemed to be the head of this enemy broke in two, inside its body there was a cavity where it seemed to keep what looked like an arrow. A completely black arrow but with a bright detail at the tip, an intense blue gem cut perfectly to cause damage. The lapilli tensed the reformed bow with its apparent arms and tensed the string aiming at Alexandrita.

Ok, I'll add them myself.

(Heliodor 50 and 57) Let's make paper!
>The door behind the paper wall has a small bell on its outer side. Once it rings, two yellow figures hurry to approach. They are two exactly identical yellow gems, forming side-by-side, and they greet you outside Diopside's stationery shop. The place has several square water containers and a row of filters stacked one on top of the other; there is wood and buckets with apparent cellulose. The two gems soon lower their gaze and meet yours.
(Heliodor 50) It's Kunzite!
(Heliodor 57) Kunzite and Onyx
(Heliodor) Kunzite, do you remember me? I'm 50
(Heliodor) And I'm 57.
>They start to circle around you. At first, you might recognize them by their position on the left and right, but then you simply stop identifying them. Diopside finally clarifies that she is not here to make paper; apparently, the Heliodor twins look somewhat disappointed by this. Onyx and you are together, following Diopside, who is moving further and further away from the Academy towards the forest. The Heliodors follow them at a considerable distance.
(Diopside) Our inclusions are tiny microorganisms that reside in every crystalline cell of our body; they generate movement, store memories. The home of our inclusions is known, our composition. CaMgSi2O6 is diopside, LiAlSi2O6 is kunzite. When something goes wrong with our inclusions, they can resort to elements from their neighborhood.
>Part of what Heliodor said would have been taught to you in the first years of your arrival in this world. But there are parts you simply don't remember. Diopside turns her head and polishes part of her face with her hands, thus her luster disappears. The pale color of Diopside's skin fades and gives way to her original gem, a semi-transparent green. From the hole in her luster, a silvery-white liquid begins to emerge; as it flows, part of this liquid emits tiny sparks.
(Diopside) Look, this is Magnesium. It's a light metal; if I extract too much, it reacts with the air's oxygen and can harm me. Even so, the magnesium in my body provides stability to my inclusions, and that's how I've dealt with my long-term memory loss.
>She returned her hand and restored the luster that was blocking the liquid. Soon she would look again at the various sheets of paper she held in her other hand, remembering your composition, she adds.
(Diopside) You can use Lithium or Aluminum, or perhaps any other element that your inclusions accept. The latter is the most complicated step. For me, for example, Torbernite, a gem captured 812 years ago, helped me.
>You don't find Torbernite even as a remote memory; it's ideally the first time you've heard of this gem. Apparently, the process of making your memories manifest is much more complicated than writing them down on paper. Onyx places the palm of her hand a few centimeters from your chest, stopping before you.
(Onyx) Diopside, we're approaching where Uranocircite is.
(Diopside) Yes, I'll go and ask her if she can lend us a hand.
>She moves forward; there in the forest is a cave that emits a faint green fluorescent glow. The environment seems dangerous, not because of organic life forms like birds in their nests, squirrels running here and there, and insects on the ground and plants, but because of the presence of that strange cave.

>The ashes create complex structures by how they attach to the earth, forming columns after columns to support their scattered body. Alexandrita stopped being propelled by the impact of these ashes and when her speed reached 0 she began to fall into free fall. With a quick reflex she eliminated a slice of the ash that tried to obstruct her fall with an attack. The black dust expanded and part of it fell on her face then slowly descending blown by the sea wind.
>The second ash that was rising propelling itself in the black structure suddenly started to fall in a sudden hit after hit. Your sword cut the bases of her platform until it was level with the ground, you had the necessary speed for her not to try to change her target of Alexandrita. Cut after cut precise the volcanic black rock turned into dust and particles that disappear into the air. After eliminating both ashes you could see it with your own eyes, as another pair was generated at the base of the structure where the lapilli is. It seems they would take several seconds to be restructured again.
(Alexandrita) Zafiro is-
>The figure of 3/4 releases the arrow and this is directed at high speed towards where Alexandrita is, falling in the air about to land on the beach. The projectile is small and easily could block it with her sword but Alexandrita tries to say something and ends up being impacted on the right shoulder. The gem tip has a heart-shaped cut, Zafiro hardness 9, Alexandrita hardness 8.5, when your companion is impacted part of her body breaks. The right side of her chest is affected, leaving a blue and red cut depending on where you look. Her arm is separated and would fall less than a meter from her. Alexandrita cannot position herself in that fall, soon her body would impact fully against the edge of the cliff and that is what happens.
(Almandino) Oh heavens, Alexandrita.
(Moissanita) Taaffeíta, can you fight? Let's go both.
>Two gems arrived at high speed from the forest, strongly scaring the gulls on the coast. Almandino looks at Alexandrita destroyed on the sand and doesn't hesitate to jump to collect her pieces. On the other hand Moissanita had already drawn her sword and saw you quickly determining that she can count on you to finish this. The lapilli at the ocean shore approaches step by step innocently to the remains of Alexandrita collecting piece by piece. If the figure of 3/4 takes too many pieces of Alexandrita she could lose many memories or even, if taking something important, couldn't be reassembled again.

>The bell rang three times, as you've understood this means movement of the patrol groups. If there are patrol groups in the west, south, east and north, they would have to rotate counterclockwise. A group that has encountered pyroclasts won't move much from the area and will fight enemies or wait for the movement of the others. After all, thanks to the counterclockwise movement the previous group would arrive as quickly as possible. In case there are only two combat groups, as the current situation is, the group that heard the bells should leave its position and go directly to where the other is.
>Benitoíta left the materials on the table where she was synthesizing for her demonstration. When you turn to look at the hallway you can see Padparadscha and Rubí going up the stairs, they are heading to Fluorita's room. The place where Fluorita spends most of her time is on the third floor of the Academy, this place only has one bedroom and is where she rests, handles emergencies and gives missions, besides the ones already proposed during the morning. Benito doesn't hesitate to follow the pair of gems towards where Fluorita is, being her companion you don't do it either.
(Padparadscha) Eh, hello…
(Rubí) Benitoíta, Howlita. Fluorita has fallen asleep and recrystallized part of her body again. We must wait for a gem of hardness 3, 4 or 5. With our hardness, we would break her if we tried something like waking her up.
>The pink gem, Padparadscha barely greets them, she and Rubí are the combat group of Corindones. You would have understood that Padparadscha is the second strongest gem after Bort, but her attitude is lacking. Rubí, on the other hand, is a bit weaker, but takes the time to explain the situation.
>Fluorita is sitting with her hands on her lap, the only thing separating them is the big empty table in the middle of the place. The face of Fluorita is unrecognizable, individuals of her original mineral composition have come out of her head. Of all the gems of the crystalline earth, only she had this disturbing habit when sleeping. Padparadscha was watching the window impatiently.
(Padparadscha) I can't take it anymore, Rubí, let's go.
>Finally they leave. You can see how Moissanita and Almandino surrounded the lake at a maximum speed, they were in the east, so the problem is in the west. It seems Padparadscha deciphered the last part and dragged her companion directly into danger. They go down the stairs at the same time and someone is rushing up.
(Aragonito) Benito, Howlita, oh, I'm sorry, Taaffeíta appeared by surprise, rang the bell and disappeared. But… ok, it's time to do another job.
>Aragonito the orange gem apologized for the delay as soon as she arrived. After calming her inclusions she smiled and approached where Fluorita was. The hardness of Aragonito is 3.5 to 4, she is extremely weak but can touch Fluorita without breaking her. Piece by piece, individual by individual she returns the parts of Fluorita's face to its place. Again two pairs of steps echo up the stairs.
(Bort) [moe]I heard. You two… Are now companions. But you're not ready yet, are you? Catch them. I took them from your workshop before coming, Howlita. Don't be angry if?
>Bort carries three swords in addition to the one she wears on her belt, apparently two of them are for you. The third one, on the other hand, is for Diamond Green who is one step behind her. Diamond green greets them with her hand, apparently still feeling somewhat apologetic for how she broke one of your obsidian blades.

>The pair of twin gems bounce back and forth, crossing through the tall grass and leaving their tracks. The animals around them usually ignore the presence of the mineral organisms, but in this case they cannot. Both Heliodores search among all the hiding places in the forest for beings with which to play. They are not very persistent with the animals, once they escape they simply look for another. They treat these forms of life with care, they are small, fragile and short-lived beings. The pair of Heliodores also take care of you, Onix reminds them of their hardness 8 and how they cannot take it by surprise or accidentally break it. They gave up trying to play with you because it seems that Diopsido was talking about something important, just like now with Onix.
(Onix) I do not agree with that. They are elemental metals, nobody knows what can happen… I mean, we can create the same effect with drawings and letters that you will remember, it is the best way. The most beautiful and appropriate.
>She since the argument happened did not show the best of her faces, it seems that the topic of your treatment was something that would drain all her energy if it was not already. Anyway, in the apparent situation against her, to which Onix was dragged, she maintains glimpses of kindness and confidence. With you, she is a bit more gentle than with the rest, maybe because you would succeed her in the winter work or any other reason that you do not know or little remember. The cornaline eyes of Onix shine in the reflection of the sun. Towards the southeast, they spot a pair of gems running at speed around the southern lake, carrying swords and seem to be in a hurry. Diopsido still hasn't come out of that place, Onix is the first to care about the minutes. She turns back to you.
(Onix) It has been a while… If you feel something strange, put yourself behind me. Uranocircita is radioactive.
>Radioactivity, perhaps you have heard that word before, it is a characteristic that only a few gems possess. Onix warns of the danger of Uranocircita, gives you instructions in case it appears. A certain ability to affect the rest of the gems indirectly, altering their inclusions, disrupting their molecules irreversibly. Soon they heard the sound of some wet steps coming out from the interior of the cave. Now that place does not emit green light, the source has moved outside. Uranocircita clings to trees and crawls from the lower levels of the earth. As the green fluorescent gem passes, strange things happen, the nearby grass turns black, the trees reproduce its shadow which does not disappear even if it is given light. Finally Uranocircita finishes climbing the ridge and with a somewhat distressed face she approaches you.
(Uranocircita) I… I did nothing… We talked and then it collapsed. I came for help.
>She explained what happened with Diopsido. The atmosphere turned green in the shadows, for Uranocircita sunlight was something annoying so it seemed to always be under shadow. Being close to Uranocircita makes you feel sick, your inclusions are altered, it happens what Onix warned. The animals ran away and the Heliodores lost their playmates. They hear what was said by Uranocircita and react instantly.
(Heliodor) Help! We are going.
(Heliodor) Sister, wait. Ugh this is strange.
(Heliodor) Urano, please step aside.
(Heliodor) Please! Really!
(Uranocircita) Of course…
>Both yellow gems ask Urano to step back at least a few meters, in this way their effects are not so intense. Uranocircita accepts without much difficulty, she looks somewhat serious, as if she remembered this request over and over again. Both yellow gems now enter the cave. Urano walks about ten meters away and asks if it is okay there. The pain has slightly eased.

>The silhouette of the lapilli's eyes dilates, as if the expression of its almost face changed to one of happiness. It gazes at the pieces of Alexandrite that fell near the black structure, looking at them as if they were precious and valuable. The rest of Alexandrite's body shows cracks on its face, and they repeat along its structure. There is a very large hole on the right side of its chest, followed by this wound, several scattered Alexandrite rocks on the beach. Almandino did not hesitate a second to separate the largest part of Alexandrite's body, retrieving it from the enemy formation. If something went wrong, there was a possibility to reassemble Alexandrite by inserting different mineral elements, but it remains risky. On Moissanita's side, she first checked your state before launching herself to battle against the Lapilli, while you prepare, you can feel her bewildered gaze at your words.
(Moissanita) Take the position...? Taaffeite, it's best to focus now.
>Fake Diamond is in an imminent combat state, unlike Alexandrite, who is straightforward but can also play battles with you; Moissanita gives you some words she believes can clear your mind and launches herself there. In Almandino's hands you see Alexandrite's face, stoic and cracked, you hallucinate an affirmative and go against the lapilli. The enemy uses an apparent limb to lift Alexandrite's fallen arm, barely noticing the two gems approaching for its liquidation. You approach and deliver the first blow to the distracted pyroclast, cutting it in half with your sword, but the 3/4 figure slowly reassembles. The fast encounter does not end because Moissanita does the same with her sword but making the cut at a right angle different from yours. You see how its particles divide more and more, the lapilli finally lets go of Alexandrite's arm. You would expect that with Moissanita's attack, finally that thing would turn to dust, but it's the opposite; it continues trying to reattach itself and heads toward the shadow where it came from. Instantly, the black hole expands, the return vehicle is about to take off. Its expansion range is such that you could accidentally fall into the bottom of the hole. When the escape function activates, being close you can hear a, no, hundreds of similar voices repeating unintelligible words. Like agonizing whispers, silent screams, and mainly gestures of pain. Moissanita reacts first and pushes you away from the shadow to the sunlight; she takes care to use the back of her sword to perform this action. If she had done it with her hands or the edge, you would have broken.
(Moissanite) Fled. This one was truly strong.
>She turned her gaze toward that dark region; now there was only sand and a couple of eroded rocks. In the sand, beneath you, lay the arm of Alexandrite, in pieces, yet complete and resting on the sand. Normally, enemy troops retreat once they've captured enough gem parts, sometimes even greedier ones capturing whole-body gems. The fact that the lapilli fled with nothing at all was strange, and you can see it in Moissanite's expression at the situation. Her brilliance, as intense or more so than a diamond, is striking to her enemies from the crust.
(Almandine) Mois, don't worry. We have both of them.
(Moissanite) Master Sapphire?
>Almandine gathered the pieces of Alexandrite outside the sand, where they could have been lost. After a while, she appeared holding an object in her hands. A piece of intense blue gem, heart-shaped and pointed, was the head of the arrow the lapilli had launched. When Moissanite noticed this detail, she wondered about a gem she'd never heard of before. The blue gem piece was far too small to be considered an equal; perhaps they saw something you didn't. Anyway, the battle was over. Almandine had taken care of collecting all the parts, even fragments of yours that would have broken off from Moissanite's thrust, though you hadn't noticed. Two new shadows appeared above you, but they weren't enemies; two more gems had come here. Padparadscha, a pink gem, and Ruby, of the same type but red.
(Padparadscha) Hey! Where's the enemy? (...) Damn it.
>The pink corundum mineral asked all of you down below about the presence of the lapilli and ash; she didn't look very friendly. When she realized the shadow had already disappeared, she showed some frustration.

(Rubí) Alexandrita is very lucky. Its hardness is 8, while sand only reaches a maximum of 7. If it had been one point less, its smaller pieces would have kept breaking continuously making it impossible to collect them.
>The size of a grain of sand, some of the pieces of Alexandrita sank into the coastal mass of the place, losing themselves without counting on its characteristic shine and blue red color. Anyway Rubí makes a comment regarding the destroyed state of your companion, maybe breaking into a coast wasn't the best way to lose against the enemy. You knew of a gem that got lost in the ocean and apparently became part of the ocean floor, Cianita, is the memory that would come to your mind given the situation of Alexandrita and how vast and big the sea is from your view. The pair of gems that arrived slid down the cliff and landed perfectly on the solid ground. Rubí was carrying a cloth bag to carry the pieces of Alexandrita, Almandino moved them there.
(Padparadscha) Hey, Taaffeíta. I thought you were a silly girl, but you took care of a type 3 with addition of surprise factor. You're strong, I'm impressed.
>Padparadscha stayed a moment observing the ground looking for any shadow that carried with it a minimal ash. When she got tired of that she directed her gaze to you, she had her arms crossed and didn't seem to be extremely proud of your achievement, but in the same way she gave you a compliment, in her way. Moissanita on the other hand kept the small piece of blue gem in her hands, she didn't direct any words to Padparadscha, although they were close, False Diamond looked towards the sea waiting for the rest to arrive or Almandino to call her to leave the beach. Padparadscha looked a bit impatient, she turns to you.
(Padparadscha) Maybe Fluorita will be late, she was asleep when I went to see her. Do you want to fight with me while she appears? I can break you and Andalucita will think it was battle damage, what do you say.
>For Padparadscha, a gem of hardness 9 and ability developed to the maximum, the concept of a fight was a bit twisted, she didn't hesitate to say that she would literally make you pieces to liven up the atmosphere. That sophisticatedly brutal way of being only belongs to the gem with the highest amount of pyroclasts destroyed in record. Pad makes you that proposal and following that Almandino goes towards where they are. She talks to you.
(Almandino) We have finished collecting most of the body of Alexandrita, it will be okay. Now, Rubí wants to collect the smaller pieces that fell into the sand. I was wondering if you wanted to help, because you are her companion.
>Almandino explained to you that it would be a somewhat heavy process, it consisted in carrying bags of sand to the Academy and going through filtering the tiny pieces of Alexandrita among the sand particles.

>Fluorita behaves in strange ways most of the time, so she's almost always silent in this place, maybe just thinking or waiting for a gem to warn, advise, or guide her. Among all of Fluorita's bad habits, this was definitely the worst, her face comes out of her head and becomes polygonal figures. Half of her dreams are spent sleeping like any other, a smaller percentage with perfect crystals coming out of her body and finally, in an improbable and critical state, unknown figures like flowers, beings, and artifacts never seen before reforming from her being. Every time a gem asks her about her strange sleeping form she replies she has no idea about anything.
>It's past half an hour to nine in the morning, several minutes have passed since the sighting of the pyroclastic enemies and just a few minutes ago you saw Almandino and Moissanite crossing the lake at full speed. Finally Aragonite ends up placing every piece of Fluorita's face in order and the only thing that would be missing is returning a pale luster to the surface of her gem. Benitoita looks somewhat committed to the work Aragonite is doing, Benito being a gem that adores beauty over effectiveness, would find it completely unnatural for Fluorita's gesture. Nonetheless she doesn't let out any cruel comment, for that you have a couple of diamonds.
(Bort) You're very animated, Howlita. But with these ideas, many gems could be led to the bottom of the Crust. You must know how and when to break yourself so that we can recover you, I'd say.
(Green Diamond) Eh, about launching... Distance attacks aren't so bad.
>Green says that and seems like a kind of comfort. In reality, using distance attacks is less effective than it seems, the force to break rocks can only be supplied by its own inclusions and even it's complicated to manage the intensity of the attack in that way. The main step to use a weapon in combat is to see it as part of oneself and in that way extend your attack and add some points of hardness.
>Fluorita woke up a few minutes ago, barely she opened her eyes she started walking out of the room, Aragonite explained everything while all of you advanced. From the third to the second floor and from the second to the first, then the main entrance and all the pillars surrounding the academy. The lake looks reflective to the rays of the sun, you can see how the silhouette of Crisocola still remains under the lake doing her duties as an aquatic gem. The tall grass reaches your waist, it's fresh to the touch. Fluorita advances around the forest towards the place where the attack is happening.
(Fluorita) The plan is to scare them away from our paradise with all the strength we have.
>She says in response to your question from a while ago, soon she would ask you if you were in agreement and if that was what you asked. Fluorita isn't carrying any weapon or object with which to defend herself, instead there are two diamonds behind her and then the group of Howlita and Benitoita. As they approach the northwest coast they observe the infinite blue of the ocean and how there's no trace of shadows or signs of a fight happening. In this case you can think radically of two different ways, that they have captured all your companions and have gone away, or that they have defeated the pyroclastics and are hiding. Benitoita carefully observing the ground finds the trail of ashes from a couple of pyroclastics, she leans towards the second option, they are all well. Fluorita isn't as fast as all of you, because of that, there's still a long stretch of plain to reach the coast.

>The closest thing to Onix's drawings were some animals that walked several meters above you, but they had larger wings and a generally slender body, different from penguins that in your image appear more plump. Onix was in front of you, covering you with greater effects of Uranocircita, she could barely be seen between her left arm and the rest of Onix's body. Uranocircita, the radioactive gem according to Onix, is something short in stature, to the point that she seems young like you. Her yellow hair in green tones stand out in the shadow of the trees, but what makes her stand out the most are her glowing eyes. Unlike her dangerous effect, she does not look like a hostile being, instead she remains in check and even prefers to step back slowly.
(Uranocircita) I can't help, if I touch her I could permanently damage her…
>She told you two, speaking of Diopsido that fell into her cave. Onix replies that she already knew and that there was no need to worry. The effects of Urano are visible in the environment, with each second her shadows are clearly marked on the trees and different things corrode. She would have blackened the left tip of your notebook that was sticking out of the area that Onix covered while standing.
(Onix) Hey, Uranocircita. Have you tried to cancel the radioactive effects on other gems? Your inclusions may be able to do it.
(Uranocircita) Since I heard your steps, I haven't stopped doing it.
>Onix asks her totally sure of her ability, but Urano replies creating a certain surprise and situation difficult to believe. Uranocircita is a solitary gem, she would remain silent for as many seconds as needed until the Heliodores rescue Diopsido. Finally the yellow pair is spotted among the rocks inside the cave. They finally exit, carrying Diopsido half-dragged. By itself, walking on one's back was already complicated, more so if the Heliodores have to carry a certain load.
(Heliodor) Come on, come on!
(Heliodor) Where Andalucita
>They leave Diopsido on the ground and then reposition themselves. 50 took Diopsido by the arms and 57 by the legs, they took her to the Academy making a certain catenary somewhat comical. Diopsido had no signs of fracture or cracks in her body, only minimal amounts of magnesium flowing from her eyes, mouth and nose. The hardness of Diópsido is 5.5 to 6.5, while the carbonate rocks inside the cave barely exceed a 4 in specific areas. Uranocircita says goodbye with some sadness, she returns to the cave and the green glow becomes noticeable. The feeling of illness, part pain has completely faded. Onix talks to you while approaching the Academy.
(Onix) I'll go to sleep as soon as Diopsido recovers a bit. Will you be okay with that? A while ago bells rang, meaning there's an attack of Piroclastos. Don't go near the coasts and you'll be out of the confrontation.
>The frequency with which Onix yawned increased, she looked tired, even from the first time you met her. Onix promised she wouldn't fall again and she was keeping that promise. She, during the time she talks to you, doesn't take long to explain and warn you about the condition of the sound from a long time ago, recognizes enemy presence somewhere. Now they have to pass through the huge main entrance, the door towards Diopsido's paper shop was closed. You can see a silhouette inside the lake, it seems like a gem and it's about to come out of there. Gems are very heavy and can't swim, so they simply walk on the aquatic floors. By the comments of the Heliodores, Andalucita sounds like a gem capable of healing the others.

>The ocean waves churn the sand, going back and forth, the great mass of clean water cleans the ocean. Almandino seemed very determined to return all parts of Alexandrita, following Rubí's instructions to the letter. For Rubí, it was already a fact that tiny parts of Alex had been washed away into the sea forever. Almandino asks for your help, and Padparadscha proposes a game. The first would wait attentively for your answer, but she could not wait more than a minute since the sand near the sea is hard to distinguish. Padparadscha, on the other hand, seems not to have understood your hesitant proposal; in fact, nothing you said without much decision was relevant to her.
(Moissanite) Almandino, definitely has inclusions.
>Fake Diamond eventually approaches you, but she doesn't speak to you, but to Almandino. Apparently, she finished looking at that intense Blue gem and the sea, and wants to tell Almandino a detail. Before you can find out what it's about, Padparadscha grabs you by the back of the neck and jumps to climb the cliff. Padparadscha doesn't care if you crash into the cliff; anyway, hitting those rocks wouldn't hurt you much unless with force. Her hardness is 5 to 7, and yours is 8.
(Padparadscha) Will it be fast? Sure. I'm not as gentle as Alexandrita. Get ready.
>She assured while giving the couple of jumps, rising several meters to where you were before, when Alex and you observed the incursion. After forcibly taking you up there, she threw you to one side against the grass; the earth has minimum hardness, it doesn't hurt you but it does get you dirty. Padparadscha would prepare her sword and watch you trying to get up, however, before the latter happened, a couple of bright silhouettes pushed through the tall grass. The pair of gems jumped with the intention of attacking them, but mid-fall they realized it was you.
(Bort) Oh, you girls moved so fast. You alerted Green Diamond. Are you playing fights?
>Bort put away her sword and asked both of them with a dangerous smile, as if this were a confusingly funny situation. Green Diamond with spectacular brilliance followed Bort's movements and also ceased her guard.
(Padparadscha) It's a real fight, Rough Diamond.
(Bort) Seriously? That's something abusive of you, Pad. We don't break our own. Besides, Fluorite is here; she'd say something like "Beautiful gems, come with me."
>It was a poor, but somewhat funny imitation. The pink gem clicked her tongue; it seems the recreational confrontation ended before it even started. Somehow, because of Bort's words, you would realize it wasn't the best idea regarding the difference in hardness and skill. Padparadscha looks annoyed, maybe even more than when she arrived; Green Diamond approaches you and offers you her hand to help you up.
(Green Diamond) Hello, Taaffeite. Are you okay? There are no more enemies, right?
>>7403
>The atmosphere was calm; the trail of ashes followed a long path. Finally, the trail ended on the west coast where a rocky elevation was visible. A cliff that separates the sandy beach and the elevated grassland; the main battle would have been here. Fluorite and the diamonds advanced ahead of you until unexpectedly a figure appeared jumping from the lower sandy floor. Bort and Green Diamond reacted instantly; the pair of diamonds are incredibly fast and organized, each covering a right and left zone where they would attack in a pincer movement. As they ran, hiding in the tall grass, they drew their swords, and they couldn't help but cut part of the grass, creating a trail of grass rising a few centimeters into the sky.
(Fluorite) Seems everything went well.
>Fluorite looks calm, as if the pair of fast silhouettes landing on the small cliff were nothing to worry about. Her calm would soon be justified; they weren't enemies but her comrades, specifically Taaffeite and Padparadscha, who had climbed up very fast. The conscious Diamonds ceased their attack, and soon your group of three and their group of four would meet at Fluorite's walking pace.

>Several minutes passed since the encounter with the Diamonds, Padparadscha, and Taaffeite. Fluorite said all gems near this place should gather with her, which Bort finds inexplicably funny. In short, Alexandrite and Taaffeite had spotted an exploratory troop of Pyroclasts on the coast and were the first to attack. The situation got complicated because the main Pyroclast had a dangerous element in its arsenal: a high-hardness gem shaped like an arrow. Alexandrite fell and was partially destroyed, but Moissanite and Almandine's group arrived and, with Taaffeite's help, dispersed the Crust's forces. Fluorite evaluated this as good work, and they all headed back to the Academy.
(Benitoite) Howlite and I were ready to fight. Or at least watch you do it. What a shame.
>Benito, a blue gem with hardness 6, commented to Taaffeite, who had witnessed the dangerous encounter from start to finish. Benitoite, with her explosive will, kidnapped Taaffeite, and they returned with Howlite, following Fluorite. The route was outside the forest, circling it and crossing the plains toward the huge rock structure.
(Benitoite) Wait... Your outfit is ruined! You've got ash and "that" stuck on you. Besides, look, Howlite, you damaged your sword.
>She looked behind and in front at Taaffeite's clothes; they were covered in ash and dirt, leaving her in a very dirty state. Also, her lower part was stained with an apparent viscous black liquid. They identified this fluid as part of the structure the Pyroclasts use to appear, their negative space. Benito called Howlite to check Taaffeite's weapon; it only had a few scratches from the fight, definitely an exaggeration.
(Bort) Eh. Ruby and Pads left. Hey!!
(Fluorite) No problem.
>Padparadscha disappeared without saying a word; similarly, her partner Ruby left Alexandrite with Almandine and followed the pink gem. Bort watched the last one walk away and shouted, but Fluorite had no issue with her actions.
(Bort) Whaaat?
(Green Diamond) Well... Statistically, it's highly unlikely that successive Pyroclast assaults would happen on the same day.
>Green Diamond makes an informative remark. Bort is a bit surprised and grabs her head, saying she's studied a lot. Right now, in their plans, Almandine and Moissanite would go see Andalucita to rearm Alexandrite, while Bort and Green Diamond would report what happened to Axinite, and then they'd look for Tanzanite to verify the probability of a Sapphire gem appearing.

>The twin Heliodor took Diopsido inside the academy, somewhere on the first floor you would find this Andalusite gem capable of awakening Diopsido once again. The yellow pair took this lightly, but you could still notice their effort to not harm Diopsido, since she has a hardness of 6 and the Heliodor have a hardness of 8, with a sudden movement they could break her arms and legs and it would be a disaster. Outside the entrance of the academy there is a large orange bell, equally there is a crystal lake and a forest that surrounds almost the entire front view. Onix seemed to have a lot of sleep, her movements were slower than usual. She saw you paying attention to how the gem inside the lake emerged making its silhouette increasingly clear. Onix makes a comment before going to the medical space.
(Onix) Crisocola works very hard. She is friendly. If you stay here try not to touch her, she is very fragile. She has 3.5.
>Finally Onix says goodbye to you, telling you to be good and that she will see you after her nap. Nevertheless what Onix said is useful, regarding the name of this gem and its hardness. The hardness of Crisocola was something worrying, if you remember your own hardness is double hers and it's not that you are the strongest gem among all. After a few seconds you can see the face of the gem, her blue hair blends with the interior of the water. She walks out naturally from the bottom of the lake, she is very heavy to float like the jellyfish you sometimes see.
(Crisocola) Heey, what do we have here? Lost look, under the shadow- (...) Uf, see you later, friend.
>She seems to recognize you when she comes out of there and sees you, the feeling is not mutual. She makes certain indications but stops, apparently a jellyfish had stuck to part of her neck on her left shoulder. She uses her hands and carefully removes the living being from there and returns it to the water. Her clothes are still wet, her hair not so much because it is mineral composition, just like the rest of her body that simply makes the water droplets slide to the ground. The red color of her eyes is discordant to the blue and sky-blue composition of her base mineral. She is different from Onix, Diopsido or Axinita, she is cheerful and most of the time emits confidence. After picking up her hat that was resting next to the bell she goes towards where you are.
(Crisocola) Kunzita, did you forget me again? Or maybe you forgot my job?
>Obviously she knows you and knows about your forgetful condition. The first thing she does is ask about something you remember to start the interaction from there. However she doesn't make you wait for an answer, she adjusts her hat, walks forward and sits next to you. A wet trail became visible in the ground where she walked, even on the white floor of the academy entrance, under the shadow of one of its pillars, individual water droplets remain static after being transported there by Crisocola.
(Crisocola) My job is to be the freest gem.
>She responds to her assumptions, acts with pride and lets you know about her work. The dry statement could make someone cautious not to believe the story, but Crisocola is willing to run the risk of interpretation.

>The group of corundums, Padparadscha and Ruby, would have separated from the rest when returning to the academy. It is known that their group is the most efficient of all in the crystal land, eliminating an enormous amount of pyroclastic enemies during a minimum of 900 years. After all, the two of them have a hardness of 9 and an age of over 1000 years. You don't know why, but Pads only listens to Fluorita's instructions during the mornings, as if their relationship is different from the rest. The gems with more than a millennium of antiquity were not introduced to the world by Fluorita, but by whoever was formerly the leader among the gems. Fluorita watched them drift away, but disconnected from the topic very quickly, at least until you commented on it.
(Fluorita) Padparadscha is incredibly tenacious when it comes to combat, it is her gift. Like you and the weapons, Howlite. No one could stop them when devising new techniques or methods to defend us, not even me.
>Fluorita responds with notable serenity, she agrees that the gems make their own decisions. The relationship between the gems and their work is essential, Fluorita understands that and encourages the gems to do what they desire. But no one can forget their own safety, which is why there are those willing to fight.

>Your sleeves and the hem of your skirt are dirty, but not with dirt or ash that is easy to remove, but with something denser and of a more intense color. Benitoite noticed it and got alarmingly over the top, exaggerating things regarding your sword; now that you bring her closer to "that," the reaction is similar.
(Benitoite) It's disgusting! You boarded one of their ships, right? That static shadow circle on the ground. When they appear and disappear, they expand and splash this black viscous liquid. It ruins all my creations.
>Benito gets agitated, then explains and finally points out the bad thing about it. Your outfit was made by this gem, just like all the others. Benito takes care of making clothes for everyone according to how they want and part of a twisted sense of her own beauty. An amalgam between what the gems recommend, a certain homogeneity required by Fluorita, and Benitoite's eccentricity. The first outfit is usually terrible, but by the second, Benito reduces her influence and fulfills the necessary. It's no wonder she reacts hurt when something is wrong with her clothes. She approaches you and takes you by one of the sleeves; you must be careful not to touch her because she has a hardness of 6.5. Green Diamond turns to see what's happening and quickly understands what Benito refers to.
(Green Diamond) If I'm not mistaken... it's ferrofluid. A strange metallic composition that Pyroclasts carry in their structures. Isn't that right, Fluorita?
(Fluorita) It is correct.
(Green Diamond) It is harmless, but you could go with Tanzanite to have it removed.
>She recommends it to you kindly. You could leave it there and drive Benito crazy for a while, or go to Tanzanite and have her use her exclusive tools. Tanzanite is the gem with the most knowledge about pyroclasts, almost like Axinite and her books, but more twisted. Benito now took your skirt and tried to remove it on her own by rubbing the ends of her hands, but ended up expanding it more; that said, it reduced its intense color.
(Benitoite) Ferroloquesean, they are so annoying.

>The Taaffeite sword looked almost new; only a few minor fragments the size of a centimeter had likely chipped off. The thing about making swords from cooled magma is that their edge is incredibly sharp, but their toughness is fragile. You couldn't chop a bit of wood without it breaking or getting damaged within minutes; its use was exclusively against pyroclasts. The information the library holds on weapons effective against pyroclasts boils down to fighting fire with fire, after all. According to ancient gem estimates, pyroclasts are also made of cooled volcanic material. Fighting unarmed could be just as effective as using weapons, but the wear on gem bodies is greater. With every contact between gems and pyroclasts, part of the gem's mineral material chips off. Those tiny pieces can't reattach, which means losing memories during continuous combat over hundreds of years.

>The raised grass brushes against the luster of all the gems traveling back to the Academy. Fluorite takes her time, avoiding the forest and preferring open areas. The great white structure of numerous pillars that is her home is visible from this distance. The lake in front of the Academy reflects the green landscape like a mirror; beside it, on the bell, birds perch as if their sound were distant yet imminent. At the Academy entrance, under the shadow of a large pillar, two gems stood: on the steps were Kunzite and Chrysocolla, the latter seeming to have just emerged from the lake. Almandine and Moissanite were ahead; they would be the first to meet them. The fake diamond group took Alexandrite to Andalucita so she could repair her. Being so close, Bort exchanged a few words with Fluorite, then turned and addressed the three of you.
(Bort) We'll report everything to Axinita, the nerd. Well, Verde will do it. See you, girls!
>Raw Diamond would try to bump her hand against you to say goodbye in her peculiar way, but she's hardness 10, and something like that would definitely break a couple of you. She stopped in time and, as if it were something tiny, said goodbye with only words, then went with Green Diamond. Verde, the youngest of the diamonds, undoubtedly has plenty of forced and unnecessary work.
(Fluorite) Howlite, Benitoite, there's a grace period after enemy appearances; I set it at two hours based on Axinita's suggestion. Report to the bell after that.
>Two attacks in one day is possible, though unlikely. It's determined that the Benitoite and Howlite group must start practicing today. Benitoite agrees.
>The grace period Fluorite mentions is a result recorded by Axinita in her continuous study of patterns over at least 1500 years. Axinita manages the library and is so good with numbers and daily reports that she can find a safe window where no gem is in danger of being captured. Gems like Aragonite and Chrysocolla can extend their hobbies and work during this time without risking their low hardness; you might see them outside from now on.
(Fluorite) Taaffeite, since your partner is broken, I can't send you on patrol. Stay near the Academy for the rest of the day, please.

>Diópsido seemed to be unwell, and Onix tired but already 50 and 57 were taking care of the first and second, and she could take care of herself. She said goodbye to her with a "See you later," hoping she wouldn't fall asleep before reaching her room.
Ok.
>She followed Onix's advice and wrote down what she had said about the gem before going to see her in person.
No...
>She answered uncertainly to her first question, looking away to the side as if not meeting her eyes would help her hide the lie better.
I've reminded you again...
>It was the first time she was seeing her, or at least that's how she felt.
You're Crisocola.
>She had to check her notebook to give that answer, even though they had just told her and she hadn't forgotten, she was just verifying.
Do you work underwater?
>She answered the question she had already answered herself, then stepped back a bit pretending it was to keep her papers from getting wet and tried to hide the sheet where she had written Crisocola Blue 3.5, switching to a different one. She seemed like the type who would look through what others were writing and she didn't know if she was the type to get upset about that. Was having low hardness something to feel bad about? It could be annoying in certain cases but she didn't think it could be a problem as big as her memory.
Are you looking for things underwater? Doesn't it scare you?
>It sounded dangerous. Would the pyroclasts appear there? If they attacked, she wouldn't be able to fight or call for help. Even if there were no pyroclasts, she could break with some element down there, and if she did, it would be hard to recover her parts and others would take longer to find her if she couldn't reach the academy by herself. It didn't sound safe, mostly because of how lonely it would be. At least during winter she would have Onix.
Oh, right.
>She remembered something and wrote it down immediately, Winter, above the drawing of the penguins and bubbles. Now she would remember she didn't have to look for them until winter came.

kek I acquired minerals a few months ago, but it doesn't happen to me
>From afar, the water acts like a mirror, reflecting the green of the forest that surrounds much of the academy. Up close, you can see the interior of the lake and how several jellyfish spread throughout the deep center. The shadow of the pillar covers a couple of gems on the entrance stairs. Chrysocolla, who accompanies you, has just come out of the lake, so she is all wet, and when she sits there, micro-droplets splash your entire right hemisphere. Chrysocolla's smile is wide and comfortable; the way she acts is also partly relaxed and overflowing with confidence. She mentioned her work, claiming freedom, then you asked for the specific location of her activities, and she was happy to answer.
(Chrysocolla) I am a hydrated copper silicate; the ocean is like my second home. Do I work underwater? That's true. I am free underwater, and I am also free here on land.
>The way she refers to her work seems like a kind of conviction; it's not something that contributes greatly to others, but it doesn't seem like she refuses to do something like that either. Especially having such meticulous gems as Axinite, who keeps an immense record in the library, registering the sea would also be necessary. Soon your question about any quest and fear would reach her; she doesn't react too much, showing a satisfied look, as if she had something prepared to say.
(Chrysocolla) The sea is terrifying; there are abyssal depths from which one cannot return, there are ocean currents that separate you hundreds of kilometers from land, and underwater currents can erode anyone with swift quartz particles. But the sea is also beautiful; it has thousands of wonderful and splendid aquatic species, its light is pleasant and warm, there are various unique and beautiful formations.
>In principle, she answered about the dangers of the sea and then explained its benefits. She continued talking for a while about how in different points near this island there would be incredible structures, like reefs to the south, glaciers to the north, and excessively deep seas to the east and west. Chrysocolla, as a gem that works in the ocean, would have a lot to say about it, but she would not have answered your question yet. When she finished describing, she would address the real topic, pointing at you for a few seconds, giving a kind of advice.
(Chrysocolla) Look through yourself and through the gems. I could have told you that I am not afraid of the sea, but my reality goes beyond that. The sea destroyed and took Kyanite before my eyes; every day I run the risk of it happening to me. Despite everything, look at me, I have survived for 434 years.
>She looks proud, forming her hand into a fist. Chrysocolla has a minimal hardness, from 2.5 to 3.5; the fact of accidentally touching a rock in the sea could cause a limb to detach from her. From the way Chrysocolla tells her story, she implies that she deals with her low hardness by using effort. She is incredibly careful taking each step down there, she aligns herself to predefined routes, but she doesn't hesitate to experiment minimally to achieve what she wants down in the sea.
(Chrysocolla) The Crust, where our captured companions go, is an incredibly hot place, molten rock everywhere. If our lives are infinite, I'd rather search for an infinity of Kyanite shards at the bottom of the ocean and thus, in part, fulfill my promise to travel the whole world. And if I fail in the attempt, I won't be liquefied kilometers inside the planet, maybe someone will take the time to reassemble me too.
>She lowers her hat for a moment, explaining thus about the life cycle and capture of gems. All gems here could live unimaginable amounts of time, but pyroclasts capture some every so often, and thus a cycle of loss is continuously renewed. Not fighting the pyroclasts and venturing into the ocean is Chrysocolla's definition of freedom. Detaching from all of them, she replaces a false hope dependent on enemy beings with a true one, of millimeter-precise execution and eternally difficult to follow. The probable reality is that she will fragment in the ocean and be forgotten, but centuries of work demonstrate strength in weakness.
(Chrysocolla) I thought you were like a jellyfish, always wandering here and there. But now you have that in your hands, it's new. If Onyx gave it to you, you should keep it as something valuable.
>She commented on you and then pointed to the notebook you were hiding from her. She didn't try to inspect it, she just spoke of it as a detail to highlight. She mentioned Onyx and automatically looked up, remembering, wondering.
(Chrysocolla) How many years has it been? Two, three? She tried hard to explain to you day after day what was necessary to work in winter, but you forget it after a certain time.
>As soon as you realize, Onyx's lessons had been many and repetitive over the years. Perhaps Onyx, being as stubborn as ever, wouldn't have allowed you to carry anything that reminds you, but you don't know her reasons. Soon Chrysocolla stands up and spreads her arms, as if she had had a revelation, but it's more of a euphoric exclamation.
(Chrysocolla) For the first time, you will spend your first winter outside! It's exciting even for me.
>Behind Chrysocolla you would see a group of gems coming from the northwest. First would be a pair of Red and White gems, the second shone impressively, it was the shine of a diamond. Both gems carry a cloth bag the size of a body, it seems to be a shattered gem. Chrysocolla notices them coming up the stairs and greets them, they seem to be Almandine and Moissanite, but you don't know which is which. Behind the first two gems, two diamonds, one in yellow and gray tones and another completely green. Even further back, Fluorite, the leader gem in sky blue, a blue gem, another violet, and a white one.

>The material used in the shadows of the pyroclasts, thanks to it they can transport their strange structures across the ground. For a long time it has been a mystery how they can overlap matter like sand, dirt, grass, and trees, replacing it with their mobile bases. Perhaps the answer lay in the material they leave behind once they depart. According to Benitoite, it is an unpleasant shade of black; she looked distressed trying to remove the stain from Taaffeite's clothes.
(Benitoite) Black absorbs all light, it's not very nice.
>She mentions an essential aspect for all gems: how their colors are the reflection of the light spectrum on their base material. There was a certain difference in how each gem receives sunlight and processes it for its function; inclusions do the most work. Diamonds are incredibly reflective, and thus their brilliance is intense and beautiful, but for that very reason they don't receive the proper light during cloudy seasons, making winter their greatest weakness. Benitoite listens to your idea about armor; for her, applying new things would be interesting.
(Benitoite) Utility, well, if you say so... We can try something.
>She agrees when you propose it; lately she's been very receptive to ideas despite her marked personality. They couldn't work with the minimum amount of ferrofluid on Taaffeite's clothes, so they'd have to go see Tanzanite in her work area. But before they head that way, Chrysocolla and Kunzite meet them at the entrance, looking animated as they greet everyone after the great work. Bort and Green Diamond stop upon seeing them.
>>7415
>Chrysocolla's laughter is loud; she started doing that when you looked through your mineral base. Apparently, she didn't mean it so literally, but your actions curiously fit her advice—it was ironic. When Chrysocolla spread her arms, cheering up the atmosphere even more, the hurried footsteps of a pair of gems were heard. The Red and White gems, extremely bright, climbed the entrance stairs. The gem with diamond-like brilliance went ahead and only managed to wave a hand in greeting at Chrysocolla's call. The red gem, on the other hand, took a few seconds to spot and greet the two of you.
(Almandino) It's good to see you two shining, girls. But Alexandrite is broken; we'll take her to be reassembled.
(Crisocola) Don't worry, Almandino! See you later!
>Neither of them seemed reluctant to show off their shine and talk, but they were caught at a bad time. Apparently, the gem inside the cloth sack is Alexandrite; the pieces of glassy rock were clinking against each other with a peculiar sound. Almandino disappears inside the academy; she is the red gem that responded to you, and by elimination, Moissanita is the other. Another pair of gems approaches the entrance; they seem to have fewer responsibilities than the first two. Crisocola is now ready to greet them, and so are you.
(Bort) Hey Green, what could we add to Axinita's report? Pads looked angry; let's say she saved a snail and thus contributed to the fight.
(Diamond Green) That's wrong, sister.
>The two of them were talking; according to the first gem, she wanted to play a prank on another named Pads. Diamond Green doesn't look in agreement, but the first gem doesn't seem to care. The first to interact with you is the gem with yellow and white shine; she's a bit taller than the other green gem, so she looked down at you from above. Bort approached Crisocola and looked happy.
(Bort) Wow! I'm surprised to see you alive.
>She doesn't take long to say that and lowers Crisocola's hat, blocking her vision. She does it a couple of times as if she's playing. It's better than her accidentally touching you; Crisocola is very fragile.
(Crisocola) Bort, stop.
>Crisocola readjusts her hat upward, and at the same time, Diamond Green approaches following Bort. The latter is now in front of you; she looks moved, as if seeing something fantastic.
(Bort) Kunzite, the youngest of all, your shine is unique.
>She explodes; it seems you look incredibly beautiful given your young age and the shine you emit. She approaches dangerously and tries to touch your cheeks; it seems like a bad idea. She's not wearing gloves, and her hardness is maximum.
(Diamond Green) Sister!
>Diamond Green holds Bort from behind and pulls her clothes in the same direction. Bort's fingers barely brush your face; it was close. She looks reckless.

>Benitoíta complained for a while about the black applied to her outfits, she couldn't completely remove them from her clothes because these were made to her liking and by Fluorita. Naturally, she is capable of working with impurities capable of giving dark colors, but she was very against the chaotic ferrofluid of the pyroclastics. The way it spreads and leaves a heterogeneous stain probably is her worst nightmare as a designer. And the truth is that if you use too much of this liquid, the clothes become heavy and drip everywhere. She briefly exposed how terrible Padparadscha was for asking her for an outfit almost completely in black, a strong experience for sure. She wouldn't do anything for her if she doesn't receive enough light during the day, but Pads doesn't care less. After she progressively agreed to help you, you asked her about ideas and her change in attitude.
(Benitoíta) It's all thanks to you, now you're my partner.
>You could see her upset for a few seconds, she really wouldn't have proposed any new idea, just trying to make your ideas real. The cost of doing it is pure and intact mineral, work of days and that she thinks creatively beyond outfits, pillows and fabrics. Certainly, her creations are ambitious, but they have no use, you didn't know of her doing something useful since what was written by Dolomita hundreds of years ago. If there was a moment to change her mindset, probably it would be within practices and patrol.

>>7418
>Fluorita entered the Academy at a calm pace, the Diamonds were talking with Crisocola and Kunzita, but you wouldn't put too much attention to their conversation. Who is really nervous about what Bort does with the fragile gems is Benitoíta. She got distracted feeling as they broke by accident thanks to the carelessness of a diamond, this happens while talking with Taaffeíta about the type 4 of assault pyroclastics, mainly composed by a bomb, a rock with a similar silhouette and with a size larger than any gem. It is believed that they are hollow and unstable, from there their characteristic crushing sound. Taaffeíta leaves and with her innocent attitude returns to the lake, Benitoíta can't harass her more with the topic of ferrofluid.
(Benitoíta) Was she always so slippery? !It's true! If she had the suit dirty with ferroquesea, probably Alexandrita and Moissanita also are a disaster.
>She decides to eliminate the ferrofluid from creations not designed to contain it, now she is immersed in her work again. Alexandrita is broken and part of her suit probably also, Moissanita was with her.
(Benitoíta) I'll borrow one of Tanzanita's magnetic stones and everything will return to be impeccable.
>She commented on the way the blue gem separated this material from its absorbent containers. The pure mineral material can be modified by using inclusions, you can add and increase elements, but it's complicated to separate them, hence the silky yellow material of Benitoíta couldn't be reused again. She advanced inside the Academy, the work area of Tanzanita was close and there she disappeared. Your surroundings are surrounded by immense pillars and homogeneous walls of great height, there are work areas that you know, Tanzanita's, Diopsido, Mystic Topaz, Andalucita and Imperial Topaz, and yours.

>Benitoíta was something catchy and kept pointing out the characteristics that this material impregnated in your outfit disliked. It seemed visually heterogeneous, messy, and could only be reordered with something called magnetism. When the latter was applied to the ferrofluid, it turned into pure black and stopped being viscous, passing into an apparently solid state. Nevertheless, the effect isn't permanent and using something like this would eventually leave a trail all over the crystalline ground and the Academy. For a moment, Benito and Howlita talked about how they could apply the good characteristics to an outfit, to which the blue gem would have to accept and come up with something, seeming like an unexpected change in attitude.
>Fluorita asks you to stay close to the Academy for the rest of the day, at least until Alexandrita is repaired. Your firm footsteps on the ground leave an obvious trail, this terrain was somewhat wet due to its proximity to the lake. Topacio is in an unknown location, Tanzanita inside and Andalucita repairing Alex, finally the rock you throw against the water bounces twice with speed. The lake is very wide and given the intense light of 10:20 in the morning, part of the atmosphere reflects on its surface. There were some creatures in the center of the lake, it wasn't very easy to see them because they barely touched the surface and seemed not to be many, they were jellyfish. The sound of the rocks hitting the water is something relaxing, the sun continues to rise high and you feel full. Soon some light steps approach where you are, stepping on the small and abundant pieces of rock on the ground. The voice is recognized, you're caught.
(Aragonito) Heaven, lounging so early, Taaff… Ah- well, you saved me. What a dilemma! You deserve it.
>She made a vague comment, but then would find that you rang the bell at that moment and followed you. Aragonito is an incredibly ancient gem, almost as old as Bort, she is known for having a hardness of 3.5-4, fragile, but still she is the strongest gem. Her works range from construction, making furniture, working with wood, rock of all types, minerals and usually she is the one in charge of all the repairs of the Academy. She seems to always be doing something and this wasn't an exception, she was carrying some logs under each arm and when you see her face, it conflicts with her rescue. She doesn't take long to put these elements on the ground and take a rock from the ground like you, planning to throw it.
(Aragonito) It's time for grace, I can work as long as I want outside. But the Diamonds are busy with Axinita, the corindones got lost somewhere. I really need a strong gem to help me bring materials.
>She throws the stone but it doesn't bounce once, it just falls straight down into the lake's bottom, demonstrating no ability. It seems she takes this moment to vent a bit about the situation. Her intervention isn't long, soon she would take back the logs from the ground and lift them to go away.
(Aragonito) Apatita said that strength was determined by conviction and not by hardness. Tell me, Taaff. Do you have a good heart?
>Gems don't have hearts or organs, that's only for animals. You are solid inside and your crystalline structures hold microorganisms. She smiles at you, your hardness is 8.5 so you fit perfectly into her range of strong gems. This seems like some kind of unavoidable test.

>Axinita is in the main room, she is organizing several papers on the morning meeting table, apparently preparing everything for her report after the pyroclastic meeting. Topacio Mistico is also there, both of them seem to be waiting for the diamonds that stopped at the entrance a moment ago. The preparation of the report is not urgent, but Axinita was extremely diligent with all the gem activities, so she had already gotten ahead of the facts. The hallway to the armory is the same as with the rest of the rooms in the Academy. The wall is to your left, to your right several large pillars and further to the right a railing with a view towards the lake.
>Since you have had memory, Benitoíta was making outfits for all of them. Her memories of cohabitation date back over a century, but until now you had not gotten this close to a gem. The fact that they are temporarily companions was a change that started from her. You still wouldn't know if Fluorita made the correct decision. Fluorita taught you about this world and introduced you to the creation of weapons, which seemed to be something that came naturally to you among the dozens of activities.
>The armory was intact, apparently the Diamonds did not cause much commotion when they came here to retrieve their backup swords. Everything is in its place, from the large basalt rock in the right corner to your handle molds, the assembly table, the rock cutter and the material deposits, unfinished and finished weapons. In the center of the assembly table are the remains of a broken sword, the obsidian shines with the reflection of the semicircular window on the wall. Those pieces of rock are on a paper and this last one, small, has a very short message.
(Diamond Green) "I'm sorry (╯_╰)"
>Diamond Green still had the memory of what happened this morning, it seems like it had happened just moments ago, but it's simply a matter of perspective for beings with long lives. She would have broken a high quality weapon, its edge was monstrous. Normally Aragonito, Andalucita and Topacio Imperial work with tools, but these are different from obsidian compositions. The weapons they have only serve against pyroclasts and beyond increasing exponentially the damage, it increases distances and decreases the risk of erosion and fracture.
>Your practice in weapon creation dates back decades, you would have known that before you, there was a time without gems capable of creating weapons, so that position was held by Fluorita for one or two centuries. Fluorita's weapons were not something from another world (Quality 1) just entire compositions of cut basalt. Fluorita has vast knowledge about everything, but her practice leaves much to be desired. She can replace any gem in her work, but she does not stand out beyond basic aspects.
>A previous gem left knowledge about weapons and based on that you could work on a technique of your own. It involves cutting the obsidian into very thin sheets, they are placed one by one on the assembly table and cut into the desired shape. To cut the obsidian sheets you only need to pass one of your fingers 6.5 over the mineral of hardness 5, precision is rewarded. Creating a weapon of superior quality means making cuts to these sheets and then joining hundreds of thin models. The adhesive used is the same that Andalucita applies when gluing the others, a mixture of jellyfish back and residual inclusions from the Initial Failures. Among the unfinished weapons are the most common ones like swords and others simply exhausting like the axe and the robust two-handed sword that Padparadscha requested.

>The pair of diamonds stopped and spoke with you, the shadow of the pillar does not cover everyone completely. While you were looking at your notebook, a small crisis occurred between the pair of the same composition. Several of the gems would have moved from this place, like Fluorita who walked silently or Howlita and Benitoíta who after talking entered shooting. They were the blue, white and blue gems. Taaffeíta, the violet gem, on the other hand went to play by the lake, seemed to be having fun. Green Diamond avoided you from breaking, she looked conflicted with Bort and made him apologize.
(Crisocola) That is an unusual name for a pencil.
>She noticed what you said about the pencil Axinita, she took a look at the element you use to draw, but found nothing out of the ordinary. Crisocola crossed her arms and watched with you as Bort boasted.
(Bort) Diamonds are very strong! It is our ideal role. Fighting is very easy, nevertheless, I teach this irradiated colored diamond how to do it properly.
>He was referring to Green Diamond. Bort placed his right hand on the head of this diamond, it does not break or crack. Beyond the equality in their hardness, it seemed that they had a certain relationship of trust as companions. As Bort mentions the detail of her inexperience, you could deduce the youth of Green Diamond. Bort leaves Green Diamond and raises his arms, now he would be talking about the instant procedures after each battle.
(Bort) After the battle or patrol comes the most tedious part, the interrogation of Axinita. It is free time from enemies, are you coming with me? I don't want to get bored.
>She was sincere. Inside the academy you can distinguish three main paths, corridors between walls and pillars on the left and right, and a large room in front that connects with several stairs to the second floor. It seems the main room is set up to hold all the gems standing. There is a very long table, on which there are different sheets of paper spread out. You can see two gems in that place, the first is a coffee-colored gem that organizes the table and the second has a double color, green and violet, she is innocently going around, apparently her contribution is minimal. Crisocola thought that accompanying them would be a good idea, after all the reports are quite descriptive and there was a gem there you didn't remember.
(Axinita) Oh, is that one? I've been looking for it.
>Being in front of her while Green Diamond explains everything that happened in the northwest coast, it is impossible that the moment when Axinita noticed your special pencil did not arrive. She used a pencil similar to yours, only it is a less vivid color and does not have a name written. Axinita has written down everything said by Green Diamond so far, apparently the pyroclastic enemies sent a group of exploration and combat that ended in the destruction of Alexandrita. The detail is that they brought with them a piece of Sapphire belonging to a captured gem from centuries ago.
(Axinita) Don't worry, I'll return it to you right now, I just want to inspect it.
>Axinita had no intention of taking it, it was clearly visible in her friendly expression. Nevertheless, she extended her hand waiting for you to leave it there. Bort leaned against the table with not much to do. If it weren't for the efficient construction of Aragonite, the weight and strength of Bort would have broken the furniture. Crisocola seems interested in the other gem there, according to how the aquatic gem directs herself to her, her name is Mystic Topaz.

The clothing theme, Benitoíta makes it and generally they look like uniforms for the gems that don't fight. They generally use white and other various colors, Padparadscha and Fluorita go black because she couldn't convince them. The design theme is completely free, even if it doesn't look like something you've seen before, Benito spends a lot of time with Fluorita collecting ideas. Before Benitoíta, it was Hessonita with that role and before her nobody so probably everyone dressed the same. How Benitoíta gets influence from Fluorita is already somewhat a spoiler Anyway you're free to decide how you want to dress your pj, black. If you asked me, a style similar to your pics doesn't make much difference, Alexandrita also wears white, just with golden details.
I forgot yesterday.
