>>6639>>6640>>6646>>6843>>6846The group finally met at the foot of the school entrance. They were all greeted by the principal, Gakuganji. A sorcerer who carried with him years of experience, along with the more conservative customs of the older generations. He congratulated them as well.
>Gakuganji<A musician like us isn't that hard to identify, and even less so if the "Alte Kerlen" had already told me about someone similar to me.Said Rammstein, the first to speak. He thus gained the attention of the old man, to whom he extended his hand. For Gakuganji, the first impression was bad; the student's words seemed appropriate, but the sustained gesture of a handshake seemed insolent.
"We don't do things that way here, young man. You could start by showing more respect."
He limited himself to correcting firmly, but still holding back his severity. Foreign students, or those who spent a lot of time outside of Japan, tended to be the strangest. He particularly remembers the reprehensible attitude of the special grade Yuki, who didn't even respond to the big shots.
But she was from the Tokyo school, not like Rammstein and the rest of the group now. That is, the old man could train them properly, and he would start now.
"A bow would be more appropriate."
After that, Takahiro spoke, who was with his ass on fire. And when you have your ass on fire - or any part of your body - you don't know where to go, and you run around screaming. That was the situation of the eccentric-looking young man, who, lacking anywhere to direct his anger, shouted in all directions.
<So, as long as I still have functional ears, I want you to listen to me. Do you really call that a test? Yes, maybe for me defeating a curse of such a low level wasn't a big deal, but have you seen the faces of the rest.Gakuganji was not as understanding. The young man's arrogance, which he stretched out, made the principal look up abruptly. One eye, until now overshadowed by the wrinkles life had given him, peeked out from the darkness of his sockets along with a slight but perceptible change in pressure. The only pupil contracted to the minimum just to give him a killing look.
"Silence." - he was direct, with a voice as cold as a knife's edge -
It took a brief moment to return his gaze to the generic in front, but that moment was uncomfortable. The old man, who seemed calm once more, resumed, as if he had never scolded the disrespectful one, the action of answering what he wanted to know.
"If they died, they didn't have what it takes to be where they are." —a harsh way of looking at it, but one that answered both of Takahiro's questions at once—
<so we move on Amy, luckily, was much simpler, and therefore pleasant to deal with for the director. Gakuganji nodded with a slight bow of his head.
"In effect."
...well then. Yes, that's it.
kek <Big fish? Shannon, on the other hand, despite her stupidity, asked the questions Gakuganji saw as crucial. Another case he liked, prompting him to nod his head again.
"In effect."
He repeated. And... well then, says it's a big fish. Age really did get to him! At least judging from his mutterings, Dante could somewhat agree. Logic and illogic weren't so different after all.
After this brief private exchange, the new teacher appeared. Of a height some wouldn't even call 'height'—because she's short—with the spirit of a youth despite her traditional lifestyle and already creeping into her late 30s. She hit them with a "hello fellow kids" that creeped out the Argentine, annoyed the director, and was ignored by the rest—perhaps for the better.
Ignoring her, on the other hand, was now harder. Once corrected by her superior, she tried to connect with the students who'd be her little pupils for the rest of the year... and asked them to introduce themselves.
Once again, Rammstein went first, following the order to the letter. Something the teacher took as a good start.
>Snot <My name is Rammstein, a sorcery student from Greater Germany. A pleasure to meet you~ The miko smiled, and Gakuganji nodded in approval. That attitude suited him more.
"Very good, Rammstein! That's the way!" —she clapped her hands together once— "Germany... I've been there, it's very lovely."
Moco, being a proper sorceress, travels a lot. Maybe that's why, as mentioned before, she's a bit strange. Or so the director thinks.
"Hm..." —she stayed in that pose, unsure what else to add— "eh... Thank you, Rammstein."
Gakuganji watched her. He expected the teacher to meet Kyoto's standards for instructors, which still required some effort. Moco had promised to try hard, to be strict and traditional. For now, it's proving difficult, but it was true—there weren't many teachers to choose from. Sadly, in the world of sorcery, people with cursed techniques are scarce.
<Teacher? Listen, I'm starting to get sick of your jokes. Takahiro interrupted the flow.
"?! Huh? Joke?"
Moco jumped in surprise, thrown off by the confusion. She had no idea what he was talking about. Gakuganji, this time, chose to step aside and observe how the woman would handle a student far less polite than the last.
<I came here because this is supposed to be the home of geniuses and prodigies like me. Yet all I've seen so far is a bunch of clowns."Woh, woh, oee." – she clenched her tiny fists in irritation – "And who the hell are you calling a clown, huh?" Her tone shifted from sweet to pure bitterness, her forehead scrunching up as if she'd just bitten a lemon. Notably, her speech turned extremely confrontational, like the Yakuza-kotoba gangsters use.
<Could you please explain what these tasteless jokes are all about?"What jokes?! I'm trying to run an exercise, kid! Can't you see I'm the teacher?!"
She appealed to her authority, but now she just sounded like a bratty child. When you crouched down to talk to her, a gesture the little woman perceived as deeply mocking, her cheeks flushed red—blending the embarrassment of her short stature with the anger of you highlighting it. Your impassive gaze, however, returned nothing but refined disdain, which clearly, the poor staff member now deserved.
<Sure, saying that is the very least I can do for people like you. Listen up, everyone, and listen well—MY NAME IS TAKAHIRO NISHIMURA! Better not forget it, because soon it'll be the name of the person standing at the very peak of sorcery."Well then, Takahiro-kun...!" – she deliberately used your name – "Now you're really down..." – and this was a double entendre, both about being a rookie and literally being at her eye level – "...so low I can reach your ear!"
And she did. Like a granny at a birthday party, she suddenly grabbed your earlobe with her index finger and thumb and gave it a hard yank. She squeezed with unexpected strength for such a scrawny arm, twisting to quintuple the sharp pain, adding a burning sting on top.
"What the hell is this, talking to your teacher like that?! To a young lady, eeeehhh, Takahiro-kun?" she said, making exaggerated faces like in those yakuza anime, then finally let go. Grudgingly, she stuck out her lower lip and glared at you – "...hmp..."
Gakuganji merely stroked his long beard. Apparently, physical punishment was allowed. Who would've thought the teacher who looked like an idiot had an even shorter fuse than the old raisin-headed geezer?
"Ugh..." – arms crossed, her mood ruined, Moco looked at the group – "Anyone else want to introduce themselves?"
Amy did.
<my name is Amy Anderson, I'm 15 years old although I look 7 years younger... let's just say puberty wasn't very kind to me."I understand..." -said the teacher with some annoyance, she doesn't judge, she's also, at least, short-
<and... uhm... before coming here I studied at MIT, maybe you've heard of that institution. And well... uh... I guess we can be friends"Oh, no! Nobody knows that." -she exclaimed, extending her hands with wide eyes in feigned surprise- "It's just one of the most famous universities in the world!" -she said, and after that, she lowered her arms and looked somewhat tired, she grabbed the bridge of her nose and sighed- "no... sorry... I'm acting like an idiot..." -she let her emotions get the worst of her, good teachers aren't supposed to allow that. After a few seconds, she raised her gaze and gave you a smile that recalled the first moments of her arrival- "that's very nice, Anderson-chan. It's... surprising that you chose sorcery instead of continuing your career... it's not easy to be a sorceress." -she must know, she chose to be one- "thank you for introducing yourself. I'm sure you'll get along well with your classmates." -she glanced at Takahiro, then back at you- "I hope so..." -she murmured that-
Meanwhile, Shannon's brain was operating at levels few could comprehend.
Gakuganji
"Everyone is the same age here." -he clarified, what a coincidence-
Dante followed.
>Moco<I thought you were joking"Hm?" -she looked surprised, then raised an eyebrow and looked at you suspiciously, hopefully you wouldn't react like the last one who talked about jokes-
<I'm Jose Argento, I like dulce de leche and Fernet, nice to meet you all"Uh... The what and the what?" -Moco blinked several times- "Is it a new type of beer?"
Moco, you're going to regret thisGakuganji raised his cane.
"I mean!" -Gakuganji avoided the blow- "It sounds delicious, you should show me what it is sometime!" -he said, smiling- "uhm... José...?, Argento-kun?" -he said, sounding unsure- "I don't know your last name, I'm sorry..."
<I apologize old man, I was going to let them beat the unbearable idiot to a pulp but I didn't want to get you in trouble, next time I swear I won't intervene"Guys..." -Moco said, in a mediating tone, Gakuganji, for his part, couldn't help but let out a unique little laugh-
<Are you stupid or an idiot?"Hey, guys... Hey- don't fight." -he asked, raising a hand-
<Stop messing around, there's no way we're the same age"Well... If Principal Gakuganji told us we're the same age, I believe him. He's a very wise man, and he's my role model." -he said, to see if it would work-
